I was at the concert. It started well after midnight. So the right date of the show would be in fact: 9 July, 1987. The show was later released on the DVD "Live At Montreux".

Then you must remember how bloody hot it was in there! We were working sure, but the air conditioning wasn't on or they couldn't turn the heat off. It was smack in the middle of summer (July) -I was in the black tank top, drumming. Los Lobos and The Pretenders also on the bill that same night.
