You can certainly argue it was the best music, but not the best musicians. From popular jazz of the 1920s and onwards, the world has produced many magnificent musicians, it was not just those from the 60s and 70s.

I used to own a gorgeous oak upright player piano that belonged to Leon, have photos. Ran into him unexpectedly at age 19 in TTown. He was alone playing piano and singing, had no idea who this gorgeous blue eyed soul man was but he captured me, like an ethereal light was emitting from him, was probably 30ft away and couldn’t take my eyes off him. A moment in time I’ll cherish😅 😻

I had a thing for Leon when I was young. He was gorgeous. I am wondering if that is the same piano that is in a photo of him, taken at his home in Hollywood, in probably 1970. It's a really cool photo of him. Where was he playing and singing by himself? I take it, you don't mean a concert. Lucky you. I did see the Mad Dogs tour, 1st show and 1st time to see him and then 3 other times in the 70's.

@@kendallevans4079 there are different types of GENIUS. Pavorotti is a completely different type of genius but that does not make him any less. My interests in music are extremely varied. Jerry Lee Lewis and all in between. I don't have TUNNEL VISION!!

My buddy and I called him the Spaz, but lovingly. We saw him with Leon Russell at the Fillmore West before we knew who Leon was. Great times. Graduated high school in 1966 and lived the high life until 1978 when I cut my hair and went all 9 to 5, wife, kids, house in the burbs.

This is first-class music. And Leon Russell looks like the person least intimidated by a crowd. His band of session all stars is tight too.
