I read the first two books back in the early 90s in 6th grade. I had no clue what D&D was, or what a roleplay game was. I had been obsessed with the books but my school had no more. So much so that I started creating my own. My friend was getting rid of a bunch of old books and amongst them where books 2 and 9. I had forgotten the name and couldnt find them in my previous searches. So sad to hear of John's passing.
