My school mate Daz back in the 1980s was a Lone Wolf fan and I was just an boring old Fighting Fantasy choose your own adventure fan. Just discovered the Lone Wolf series on Android and boy did I miss a gem back in the day.

I had no idea. I thought he was still writing and visiting conventions and stuff. I was writing something based in the Lone wolf setting and I was going to contact him about it. Now I don't know what to do.

It is so bittersweet to watch this. I am a lifelong fan of Lone Wolf - the books and their stories are part of so many memories - and I am currently deep diving into my complete (minus maps) LW Adventure Game collection. As he said of his artist Brian, a brilliant creator gone far too soon.

Lone Wolf is my favorite gamebook series EVER! I wish there was an animated series to continue the legacy. I hear this will end at Book 32... Kai Supreme Grandmaster Joe Dever, he will live on forever through this series!

This series and universe was as deep as any fantasy world that was ever created In some ways I hope it gets the wide recognition it deserves but then I also hope some big corporation doesn't get ahold of it

Been a fan of the books since 1989. Chasm of Doom was my first. Glad it’s having a revival of late with the final books being finished. Was also a fan of the novels which sadly ended in the 90s.

I was totally hooked on Lone Wolf when I first played it. Luckily I grew up in Sweden, where the book was sold and translated into swedish.

Thank you for this interview. I had never had the chance to listen to Mr. Dever before, despite being a fan since 1984-85. I wonder if anyone knows what miniatures Mr. Dever used for his own Magnamund armies. I would love to get a hold of some.

Luckily, a Swedish publisher are translating and reprinting the books, at a slow pace, but I hope to see the series finnish soon. I have played books 1-8 so many times.

Same. I also remember posting a question on the Lone Wolf page about something minor...flags or something. Joe responded and had a fairly long back and forth with me answering my silly questions.
