Over 5 months have passed and it is if a close family member has passed away, Man Joe Diffie was the Best and I'm so angry I didn't seek out more of his shows, so many of songs and even his personal life ran parallel with mine, I hope some day I can meet with a family member or close friend and learn more about this talented and personable artist,, I'm wear in out his bluegrass CD...... Love ya JOE.....

I saw Joe when Pick up Man was out at the Capital Music Hall in Wheeling West Virginia I was able to get the drummers autograph and picture taken after the show he came out in the front lobby. Years later seen him again at the West Virginia Interstate Fair in Mineral Wells Wv. I play the drums myself been playing for 33 years just play on the weekends not for a living. You hear the Steel Guitar all the way thru this song to me that and the Fiddle makes country music for what it should be that sound the sound of your heart feeling what your going thru. Another favorite song I love from Joe is When Ships Don't Come In. To me the best line in that song is WE BITCH ABOUT A DOLLAR WHEN OTHERS DON'T HAVE A DIME!! Joe Diffie will never be forgotten from me and all the True Country Music Lovers from this great time in Country Music. RIP Joe and God Bless his Family

Yeah, it's kinda sad that he's more remembered today for his novelty songs than his ballads. I mean, some of those songs are still fun to listen to, but it was his more serious songs like this that really showed off his vocal skills and were some of his best, imo.

I am go grateful that I was able to see Joe in concert 3 times!! I live in a small mid-western town (Sawyer, MI) at least 2 hrs away from any large concert venues. In my opinion Joe was the "George Jones" of my generation. I'm 51 and grew up on Marty Robbins, Conway, Merle, Eddy, Gene Watson to name a few...thanks to my Mom's love of country music. Over the past 20 yrs, I have only heard a few voices that have the range and emotion that Joe has, in my opinion. Wade Hayes, Trace A., Joe Nichols, Josh Turner and most recently Jamey Johnson!! That's not to say that there are not good artists of today, but there are only a few who's voice will be remembered 50 yrs from now, like the generation before. I always say with a "voice" like that, they could sing me the phone book and still give me goosebumps.

I love watching videos like this because it truly represents a time in which Country Music was iconic. It also reminds of just how far we have fallen. I do want to sound like a "hater" because I am really a fan of music and have been since as far back as I can remember. It seems like smoke machines, tight jeans, ball caps, pop sounding tunes, drum tracks, and something called country rap have taken over the radio. There are very few real artists in country music as a whole right now. Thank God for folks like Jamie Johnson, Zach Brown, Brad Paisley, and Chris Stapleton. It is heart breaking to see classic country and singers become a thing of the past. Thank you so much for posting this video! Joe is one of the very best!
