Chorus:
You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe De Ville
I got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know, if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There's just something women like about a pickup man
Yeah, there's something women like about a pickup man

My first truck was an '83 Ranger I bought from a friend's dad. Learned to drive stick getting it home. I don't know how many miles it had on it, 'cause it only had a five-digit odometer and the title just said "exempt." I do know it had rolled over at least once before I got it, and it did a second time for me, so it was at least 250,000 by the time I retired it. It's sitting in the barn now, waiting for a restoration I'm gonna do Any Day Now.

Just found out this: My mom saw my dad driving his green Chevy pickup truck thought he looked cute and through a bar rag at him. My dad thinking is was a rock or something stopped and went out of his truck to yell at my mom. My mom though was smiling at him and said my dad "looked cute in his pickup truck". My dad was speechless then started laughing after that he asked her to dinner. (That's how my parents met) The song does not lie lol

For some reason joe diffies death hurt me a lot more than Id expected. My childhood is rife with his songs, and me my mom used to jam them all back in the 90's. On top of his great songs, his super nice personality makes it that much worse. An excellent man, artist, and it just hurt to know he went like he did. countrygirl countrymusiclover There is “country genre galore”. Most of the country genre today would’ve been in the rap genre 20 years ago. Just saying.
