Utterly brilliant. This album and Moon Germs are masterpieces.

VirtualVisitor999 Although this one is easier to listen to in my opinion. Accessible without getting boring at all.

Check out Joe play flute on the classic Laura Nyro track 'Poverty Train' (1968) from her revolutionary LP 'Eli and the Thirteenth Confession', which "blew everybody's mind" and became an industry obsession. Also on this LP are Zoot Sims, Bernie Glow and Mel Davis. Unusually for a rock/pop artist, Nyro used only jazz players on her first two LP's. Her first has Toot Thielemanns and Buddy Lucas. Nyro was considered a prodigy, and an artists artist. Miles Davis was a fan and they did a few shows together in NYC. Nyro came from the Bronx. She was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2012 by Bette Midler (see youtube). Check out her track 'December's Boudoir' its indefinable. Nyro's music is mainly jazz based and technically complex which jazz fans would appreciate.

Been to Malibu. Very cool scene. Worked at a camp that was on the ranch where they shot the TV series "Lassie". I remember (1984) the weather was crisp yet warm. Idyllic! Joe Farrell is a favorite of mine. He made the first two Return To Forever albums as memorable as they are.

What a well-rounded musician, he was : Great tone and assertiveness on tenor, soprano and flute.

And oboe; and piccolo! Joe Farrell deserves much more accredited memorabilia - in words and in dollars.

Joe Farrell, un genio, nadie ha tocado la flauta en el jazz mejor que Joe Farrell, y el piccolo, ni se diga, un instrumento antipático, indómito, pero Farrell lo dignifica descollando talento
