I picked Joe up in my cab in front of that office in May 2010.He told me to take him to the Regency Hotel(Park and 61st,where he apparently lived).I told him I had always been a big fan.He responded,"Well,you always had good taste".

Joe was such a unique fellow. We only learned of him in the Midwest because of Billy Crystal. I love hearing the stories from Gilbert and others about Joes tall tales

Hie you were one of the first to get me going, I remember the days When I was just walking around NYC trying to get started and you took me in, I remember The Dixie Hotel on 44th street, your hangers on Like POP, and the mailman. Going to the studio on B'way my very first TV exposure trying out for a game show. I remember going with you to the first nighter for the Movie Oliver and so many other memories. I knew Joe and was on his radio and tv show more than once and after awhile some of the off camera antics that went on with Joe were a total turn off! Joe was not the "nice guy" that he came across as, he was a bit of a sleaze ball to say the least. Those of us in the know, know and what we know is Joe was not a good Joe lol.
