I love how a farming accident as a kid became Joe Frazier's greatest asset. He could never fully extend his left arm afterwards, but it became that incredible left hook! And his daddy made him work with the left hand so that Joe would learn to never use it as an excuse.

Love the title. Joe will always be underrated as a champion because of Muhammad, which shouldn't matter because there will never be another Muhammad Ali. You can't recreate his art of work and how it all played out. Joe is a mans man. And I'll say it now, he would've beat Tyson if he made it past the 3rd round. Simply because he outworked Tyson and was much more durable.

I loved Frazier, But, he NEVER Could beat Ali, It's a subject we could debate forever, but? He just could NOT beat him folks!! When Joe fought Foreman, as he'd tell u himself, George lifted my feet off of the Canvass no less than 7 times!! And yet...ALI beat both of them and, beat Joe twice!! Even when Joe knocked Ali down...He did NOT knock him out! in fact Ali got straight back up again in 2 seconds flat!! Which has always baffled and puzzled me folks, As far as I've always thought I've known, It is or was either an 8 or, 10 second count before a boxer was deemed technically ko'd, OR A 10 second count🤔I've watched countless 100s of boxing matches, and, that has always been the case!! for example when Ali knocked Foreman out in the Rumble in the Jungle...ALI turned that fight around soooo fast, and went from being attacked too THEE ATTACKER In a split second!! HE went from being on the ropes, too turning around 180 degrees, and hitting George at lightning speed!! so much so that, George was punched to the back end of the ring..AND ALI STILL HAD his gloves cocked and ready to unload again! Which d v been well within his legal boxing rules rights, BECAUSE GEORGE WAS still standing albeit it JJJUST.. As he was stumbling, the Ref even Patted Ali on his gloves as if to say Well done son, we both know he's had enough!! the Ref didn't or wasn't actually stopping Ali from unloading at least another 2 or 3 which d v knocked George CLEAN OUT!! BUT!! HE knew it was very sporting of Ali not to throw any other punches!🙂Then, Ali just walked away to the other side of the ring closest to where the Camera was...snuck a look over his right shoulder and THEN RAISED HIS ARMS and gloves ALOFT as the Ref did the 8 count, Poor YOUNG George didn't even know what planet he was on!! it was all over, and Ali beat foreman fair and square!! Ali fought Frazier 2 more xs and won both and, neither of them could knock one another Down!! it was the most brutal fight I've ever seen and, Joe WAS given the last or 14th round to get the job done!! but!! his right eye was swollen shut and nothing more than a slit!! AND left eye and bad eye wasn't much better, He tried sooo hard to blink as if to say...I CAN STILL SEE DOC!! But, his Dr and trainer KNEW ALI D V DRIVEN HIS BIG RIGHT AND A FLURRY OF THEM INTO GEORGE'S LEFT EYE!! AND he'd have been fighting 100pc blind, Frazier spent over a month after the fight in the Intensive care unit, peeing blood for the 1st 16 days at that too..AND, even tho Ali's face was swollen...He was doing a tv interview 6 days after the fight folks!! But! as I said I loved Joe and Ali, and, i still love George, in the context of worshipping my Idols, those 3 WERE the best I've ever seen and I've just turned 60. all the best to u and Your loved ones everyone. kind regards. Pete.
@kellykarcher71793 жыл бұрын
FYI - Frazier beat Ali in "The Fight of the Century" 50 years ago this week. He not only beat him, he dominated him and won by unanimous decision. If Ali wasn't saved by the ropes, Frazier would've put him on the ring floor 3 times. Ali won a few rounds, but it really wasn't even close. Frazier was in his prime and was just that dominant that night in Madison Square Garden...Both fighters are legendary and all-time greats...
@peterstorck53493 жыл бұрын
@@kellykarcher7179 And I'm not debating that at all Kelly, I KNOW Joe beat him And knocked him down! BUT!! HE didn't knock him out!! AND THAT Was and is my point Kelly!! Unless I was dreaming when I wrote my post, I THOUGHT I said, And Asked, if anyone could PLEASE TELL, and explain to me....JUST WHY Was the fight suddenly over!?? AND! The fight awarded to Joe!? it Wasn't THEE last round as far as I know, AND, Ali wasn't long getting back up if u follow me? HENCE, it Wasn't either 8 or 10 seconds!! BUT, the fight was over and given to Frazier!! What u don't know is, I loved Joe Frazier Kelly!! Him and I had very similar lives, AND I worked at an Abattoirs from 15 until I was 24 Kelly. I had a very rough hard life, My parents seperate when I was about 9, so, I left school the very day I turned 15, to help Dad, as Mum abandoned me and my 3 siblings Kelly, it was a horrible time in all our lives, I turned 60 on March 2nd just gone Kelly, so, boxing became an interest to me. I DO APPOLOGISE if u misunderstood me Kelly, I honestly do! AND, I know Joe was WAYYY ahead on points when he knocked Ali down! it's just that I was always told and taught that, unless a fight is over and u win on points. for example..it's the 15th round of a 15 round Bout, AND the fight is awarded to whoever won on points..if u follow me? Or! a technical k.o when the opponent can't get up in 8, or 10 seconds...OR..A boxer is knocked out cold! AND that's all I was trying to say or, get at Kelly!! AND I think I said..Frazier had 2 more chances to beat and Knock Ali down!! BUT!! They nearly killed him one another as u know Kelly!! AND as Ali said later...' We went to Manilla Champions me and Joe...AND we both came back home old men' That's not only true Kelly it's very sad too. Again I apologise emphatically if u misunderstood me Kelly, I truly am, My only point was I still don't understand the standard ( As far as I know) 8 or 10 seconds rule! As Ali wasn't that long getting up Kelly!! it Wasn't THEE last or, dying seconds of, and in THEE last round for the judges to say Joe won on Points! WHICH OF COURSE HE DID!! AND, after suffering a mild stroke 3 months ago, I haven't been able to think very clearly either Kelly, hence, I apologise for any confusion. ALL I asked was, about the 8 or 10 seconds count, and the fact As far as I do know, it Wasn't THEE very last round Kelly. All the best to u and Your loved ones Kelly, and Thank you, Pete.

@@peterstorck5349 Hi Pete. The fight wasn't over when Frazier knocked Ali down in the first minute of the 15th (and final) round.
