You know it’s hard to overstate how good this album is look sharp is one of the best albums of its time fortunately it did get some radio play quite a bit as a matter fact but it should go down as one of the seminal albums of that time. An absolute masterpiece from beginning to end phenomenal phenomenal bass playing and groove on that album

Graham Maby is a god. Maybe the most underrated/underrecognized bass player in rock'n'roll.
@tamuman932 жыл бұрын
I don’t know that he’s a god. But Graham Maby is probably the greatest bass player of all time. He has remained loyal to Joe for decades and yet has gone round the block so many times on his own. He is definitely an underrated star with a unique sound. He’s not the man, but he’s next to the man.
@cliffords2315 Жыл бұрын
@@tamuman93 he added a Jazz bass bridge pickup and jazz neck, he kind of invented the PJ, i did the same thing to my P-bass, got the idea from Tim Bogert of Beck Bogert Apeice and Vanilla Fudge. anyway thats where he got that sound, the punch of the P-Bass and the treble jazz pickup cuts through the mix and easily heard.......in the line of John Entwistle of The Who. Fender started building those basses in the 90s, i bet they got the idea from him

Joe's 1 awesome musician/writer. 80's brought lots of garbage from dim, coked up, yuppie producers pushing shiz like madonna down our throats. i tuned out & caught the tail end of America's most exciting music scene, jazz/fusion & supported greats like George Duke, Chick Corea, Weather Report, Al Jarreau, Stevie, etc. When Joe's album 'steppin out' came out i was ecstatic to hear good pop again. then bought these earlier albums & really started digging all his stuff.
