I was there that day. Full of sadness and dis-belief on that day, but all the friends neighbours and close family attended to witness Joe's brief return home, before being laid to rest in Blackpool, his chosen adoptive home. Have never cried so much in all my life for months afterwards. He fought so hard for so long. Still the illness took him. So brave. So talented. So strong. He fought hard, - I just never saw him enough, nor met him. But that's okay. I still know he was the best in entertainment, and he can NEVER be replaced (though some try). He was no charlatan. What you saw was what you got. I send or take flowers, and forever will do so, until I can no more. 💐💐💐💐💐💐 My hero. Our legend. ❤💕❤💕❤

Joe was without a doubt one of the greats in British Entertainment ( I loved his take on Shirley Bassey ) He never forgot his roots his family & old friends, I’m sorry you never got to meet him - my family and his grew up together( Gypsy Travellers where close )I went to school ( Villa Place ) with his elder brother Johnny who was a great childhood friend ( I’ve unfortunately not seen him or many of that old crowd for many yrs )My wife went to school ( Sydney Smith )and was in the same schoolhouse as Joe who regularly used to entertain his classmates with a song or 2 at dinner time

Had the pleasure of see Joe Live a few times. Absolutely amazing! A true gentleman and such amazing talent. His impressions of artists such as Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and many more was fantastic. My Dad was a huge fan and had the pleasure of Joe singing right in front of him. The smile on my dads face was truly amazing and he past away before Joe so I hope he gets to hear Joe singing whenever he wants now.
