Nope. This is what's called "bird changes" (basically a blues with a bunch of ii/V substitutions), except that Lovano's version omits the last 2 bars.

Well it's their own take on it. I personally enjoyed it very much. A song doesn't have to pay tribute to it's predecessor's version. Otherwise we'd get nowhere with innovation and new styles. And that's what jazz is all about right?
