A nice port of the Arcade original. As far as the music goes, you can't deny that signature Matt Furniss composition. The Super NES version was done by Data East themselves while the NES version was done by Elite.

No wonder I was about to say the percussion and some sounds have that MK1 sound. Even when the dinosaur boss fight, sounds like a MK oriental stage or fatality

While I love the original arcade audio, the very best version for audio is the SNES version. Its music and sound effects are just sublime, making the game a blissful experience, and making the SNES conversion the best version IMHO.

This version is closer to the Arcade game, so I'd say this is the second best one. Second to the original Arcade game. Also, you actually see the women get kidnapped in this version, just like in the Arcade.

A very good conversion of an excellent game. I prefer the SNES version as it has more beautiful graphics, and outstanding music and audio which make the game a blissful experience. The only thing (sadly) missing from the SNES version is that it doesn't allow holding down the button to power up with the spinning arms, which gives the game more of a sense of speed and power. Apart from that it's perfect.

Data East changed the SNES version around, lengthening it for the home console consumer. Kept it from being finished like this one in around 20 or so minutes.

i was born 7/31/1990 our first play video game in 1995 and 1996 i was young playing this game at 1:05 my favorite part is at beginning kidnapping those three girl but the third one i don't know what happened to her he just drag her out just kept going and keeper it going

One thing I really liked in the Mega Drive version of this game is that just like the arcade, you can charge your attacks. (At least the removal of the charge attack on SNES isn't as completely hated on as the removal of it in Mega Man 9 by Mega Man "fans". Heh, I will never stop making fun of Mega Man fanbase)

For some reason, I remember your character having a depleting life bar, like Hudson's Adventure Island and Wonder Boy. Maybe it was the arcade version which did that, I don't know. Also, is that fossilized Robocop in the options menu?

The arcade version has the depleting lifebar. Seems Data East took a lesson from Hudson's Adventure Island series, and Sega's first Wonderboy game.

I don't think anyone gets a choice. You can see the number of dislikes now only on videos that you've uploaded.

@@THEREALGAMEMASTER-gz5xg The removal of the dislike button is political driven, any video that has Biden in it gets downvote bombed, so KZbin was likely asked by Big Brother to remove it to not make them look so bad. They (Big Brother) have their hand in the KZbin cookie jar (they censor any comments they see unfit now, a 1st amendment violation clearly). Sorry to have gone to politics for this post, but there's your answer.

Much better port than the SNES, almost arcade perfect in look and feel. The only game elements I can see missing are the baby t-rexes, setting enemies on fire and the electric weapon.

The clone weapon is gone, the bug eyed animation when bosses appear was also cut, that one in both 16 bit ports. Seems like that is something they could've kept in. I wouldn't say this version is better, the arcade version is short enough already, imagine spending $50+ on a game that could be completed in about a half hour or less if you didn't die.

The 2022 is based on the Sega Genesis game, which is this one. That leaves the SNES game in the dust.

SNES one is actually pretty damned nice in it's own right, since Data East built it more for console specifications, extending levels, this way you get more replay value for your money (about an hour to finish the SNES one if you are good, this one barely over 30 minutes in length, and can be finished a little faster actually). While the Genesis version was built with the arcade version in mind, and for the length the game is, plus the cost, it is a bit stiff in the price department. The SNES one gives you more playtime for your money, something crucial in games even back then when many could be complete in an hour, or much less. I have both, while this is a fantastic port, but like the SNES one, things were absolutely stripped out of it for the home market.

I liked it on the Genesis, but yeah. Totally agree that the SNES one's soundtrack was a big improvement. I preferred the SNES game overall, but this one was still really good.

Music's not too bad on this one, it actually sounds far better than a lot of efforts other developers did at the time. Though a Japanese company did this game, they still hired a well known western music composer to do the music for it. And unlike a lot of other games he did music for, this was actually faithful to the arcade version, my guess is the Japanese developers told him not to change the music to whatever he wanted.
