if you were born after about 1995 and were a twins fan, Joe was your hero. and tonight, our hero officially became one of the greats of our team. I hope his kids know their dad is a hero to a generation of Minnesotans.

I went to this game. When I looked around I saw some people crying because they know no one like Joe Mauer will come again. It is just truly amazing what he did for the twins and their fans.

Joe you probably won't see this but Joe you've been a big part of them too that what I says to my Friend Don Funtain that he had a big part of his kids and Grandkids he give all the credit to his wife Bille Fountain but he deserves the credit too. Congratulations #7 Well deserved

@@dustinpatton576 this ain't Cooperstown. The visiting team is loosening up. Maybe their bullpen. It's Mauer, not Mays or Aaron.

Joe Mauer never won a World Series or appeared in one, was greatly over compensated for the results he produced! He had a couple of good , not great years! Three batting titles doesn’t entitle a HOF…. If you calculate his salary by the number of times at bat -$23,000,00 per year for 8 years divided by 500 times per year at bat he was paid over $46,000 every time he stepped up to the plate!!! WTF are you serious! His salary killed the Twins for over a decade resulting in the Twins not being able to afford better players!! I’m sorry I do not see the greatness! Just because he was a local boy twin’s fans were blinded by Joe’s above average play! His only consistency was his always being injured! Sorry Joe I don’t see you deserving of the HOF…. But the simpleton fans in Minnesota keep applauding him, feeding his ego, as he laughs and smiles from his mansion on Lake Minnetonka every day whenever he sees his bank account !! Touch’em all Joe Mauer you pulled one over on all the Twins’ fans and the Pohlad family!!!!
