I just found your channel. I'm studying jazz piano at college and it's really difficult to find explanations of jazz rhythms for any instruments other than drums and even for drums, it's kind of difficult! Thanks for your solid explanation!

Per the Joe Morello Bio; he played rudiments in tandem. This solo was a double paradiddle, played twice, followed by a single played twice. Sometimes, as you indicate, the double played alone. Good Job!

Just wanted to say I just discovered this series and thanks! I've always added to my drumming repertoire 1-fill/groove/lick-at-a-time (rather than studying a whole book), so this series is right up my alley. And you have some of my fave contemporary (Harland, Hutchinson, Blade etc.) which is super-cool. Would love to see some Justin Faulkner and Jeff Ballard too, just saying. Anyways, thanks again for the great instruction. Even after 20+ there's still SO MUCH cool stuff to learn!

Thanks for these lessons! At the end of the video you talk about "i have a whole series on how you take a lick and make it your own", but i cant seem to find it. They're on youtube?
