I was talking with my friend from the UK one day, called my "purse" my "fanny pack" and he gave me the FUNNIEST look. In the UK, Fanny = pussy. What do they call the bag? "Bum bags." (Doesn't sound much better to me) ;) Anyway, I rarely carry a purse... the fanny pack works better. I can carry more crap without having to worry about my purse falling off my shoulder. Of course, I'm now hearing Weird Al Yankovic's White & Nerdy... the line "Got myself a fanny pack...." :)

A fanny pack is a little bit like Batman's utility belt. Except batman has a bunch of compartments wrapped all around his torso. In fact, if you think about it, soldiers in war wear fanny packs all over their body, including around their waist. You can pull all kinds of useful shit in there like batarangs, smoke grenades, knock-out gas grenades, bolos, a grappling gun, or ultra violet lamp.
