"I don't fear the man that knows 1000 kicks,u fear the man that practices ONE kick 1000 times!" ~ Bruce Lee
@krumplethemal883110 жыл бұрын
did bruce really say that? seems like a contradiction in a way because outside the conditions for that 1 kick renders it useless. I would much rather praise an all around fighter with a little bit of knowledge in all aspects of fighting than a person who practices one or two attacks repeatedly.
@hangmanofshaolin462410 жыл бұрын
"Do not look at the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory" of course Bruce Lee will have said that,if there is a point to be made he will have,check out more of his quotes,he's very inspiring,i've been a fan of Bruce Lee since i was 7 and am now 33,i always find something new about him to this day.
@kevintherebellionreed569310 жыл бұрын
Krumple Themal Bruce Lee Definitely said that, and i know what he meant, i can learn how to throw 12 different kicks, but how effective and deadly will the kick be?? anyone can throw a kick or learn to throw it but will it finish the fight? will it save your life? if you throw something 1000x not only will your muscle memory be sharp enough to react without THINKING but you'll strike with such force that your opponent would be damaged even if they block it, Master Lee didn't say to limit the Kicks you know, but to POLISH the kicks you do know instead Focusing on Learning Many kicks, so you as a martial artist be at your most efficient.
@toddboston164910 жыл бұрын
got that bruce lee 10 thousand kicks t shirt
@MrAlexMachida10 жыл бұрын
Krumple Themal Yes Bruce Lee did say that. Most people who try to practice many techniques only use a small fraction of them in sparring. It's fast to learn a techniques but it's really a long journey to fine tune them and repeat them in to your muscle memory and a life time to learn timing and inches. And because a punch is a punch, a kick is a kick, you get hit, that's why the saying was you fear a man that practices one kick 1000 times.

@kimdobrin38938 жыл бұрын
It was a tecnique. Joe is not GSPs teacher, it was just a one off. Easier to show than actually having a fight. The best trainers would probably gas out after a few minutes.I think Rogan gasses at 1-2 minutes. IMO

Kim Dobrin What are you referring to? Joe was teaching GSP his technique - during that time he temporarily become the teacher. They don't need to fight, we're not comparing them.
@kimdobrin38938 жыл бұрын
So if you go to the gym and some guy shows you a tecnique, he becomes your teacher. It was a one off, and GSP let's anyone look good.The guy was a champ, he was very humble, and giving Joe tons of credit, but training hard doesn't mean your a fighter. Joe has never had a fight, and his one video of TKD was ko ing someone. Keep it real brother. I have different standards. Conors "teacher" is a 10th dan, from self learning,and Maia is a 4th degree. Belts and videos are there to fool you. Rogan looks like he has strong kicks,but his sparring with JWP looked awful

When I was training in Taekwondo, I fell in lovers with what we called the reverse side kick. I trained seven days a week from when I started in my 30s until I was 50 and my knees and feet started hurting to much after breaking cement objects. However, one night as a green belt I was soaring with a black belt. My sensei said I was too strong too train with lower belts. I knocked out the black belt. I was faking with a front kick and came right round writhe the RSK. Watching you on you tube today took me way back. Because of my background in judo, wrestling, weight training, and high endurance hiking, incredible speed I was a formidable opponent. I never did train in boxing much, so I sucked at that, which I regret. Thanks for the memories Joe. I'm grateful you fought of covid, but knew it would not be tough for you to do.

Sidekicks are so underrated because they’re so hard to get down good and have confidence when throwing. Use to do wing chun and my sifu taught us the high knee sidekick. Orion Jimmy that's utter nonsense. just because TKD emphasizes kicks and neglects handwork and defense doesn't mean TKD kicks are as good as or better than those in other martial arts. TKD kicks are a joke compared to full contact karate or muay thai kicks.
@siddified5 жыл бұрын
khyoon14 usually 3rd Dan comes with a teacher title, but in reality mastery is something quite separated from belt systems. especially in TKD where everyone and their auntie are awarded black belts like girlscout cookies. that being said, Joe is absolutely legit and should be considered a master in multiple styles, just not because of TKD.
