Anyone interested, search up foreign accent syndrome and you’ll see they all had brain injuries and it’s not actually an accent but a speech impediment. We perceive it as an accent, but it’s just the way it comes out for them. My sister had this after a horrible car crash and coma. She mostly recovered but it’s a real thing.

So I just decided to do some research about Foreign Accent Syndrome since I got curious about it and came to this video of yours... One of the woman with this syndrome who sounds like Chinese trying to speak in English was crying due to start losing her friends upon getting the syndrome instead of her friends understanding how serious was the Foreign Accent Syndrome is for her. Especially if those people were so judgemental and making fun of a person who can't speak proper English, like for example some Chinese people. If you look it up it's a very rare condition that usually occurs when a person had stroke, or a massive headache or migraine which affects their brain and their speech starts to change. It's not actually suddenly obtaining a foreign accent but since they got speech problem now they sounded differently makes you say their accent changes when initially it is just speech problem since they no longer can't properly control the muscles for them to speak the way they used to before. These interviews of people with this syndrome to make all people be aware of it and it's not just something to make fun of since mostly people who had this, suffered from stroke and massive migraine for days which is alarming if you're going through it. Joe Rogan is good for being honest but he is wrong on this one. It's not their fault psychology has chosen to label their speech impediments as "foreign accents". The accents occur because they forgot how to make certain sounds like some foreigners. Also it's hard to go back to an old accent even when you are not missing those brain cell. As a child immigrant I had an accent but that is fully gone now. I don't know about other immigrants but I can't go back to my old accent.
