Exactly! That is why they're so concerned with AI. Dude, look at that 25$ Raspberry pAI! It's smarter than me! Like the guy said, AI is inevitable just like atomic physics was, another opportunity for self annihilation. I'm not scared and I'm not a beting man, but I'm almost certain that we humans are going to fuck the whole thing up by ourselves without the help of AI. In fact, AI might be the only way to prevent it. Thanks Joe Rogan for some awesome interviews!

It's true. The AI's were two bots in a Facebook language-building AI project. However, as always, the general public made all the wrong assumptions. The bots didn't build a new language because they were nefarious and wanted to hide their intentions, but because of the way they were programmed. Their task was to communicate as efficiently as possible, and unsurprisingly, computers have a very different idea of communication when compared to humans. Their programming was never restricted to clear English in the first place.

Anyone wonder if Ants are actually on the same level as human intelligence if not exceeding it? The only difference being the ideology of the individual vs the whole? As humans we have a flight or fight response but maybe ants are so over populated they do not care if they die if it means a chance at survival. If you lay food for humans we are skeptical and self-defensive. If you lay food in front of an ant all they think is "this is substance for the survival of the colony, trap or not I will bring this food back or die in the process" and that mentality is what drives them?

It comes from the same stuff as everything else in the universe. He talks about there being malevolent and benevolent 'TI' and it has existed for a LONG time, way before our 'recent' technological era came about. It may sound crazy but it makes a lot of sense.. Not to say he hasnt weighed the possible outcomes of AI and the threats it could pose, but that his passion for it becoming a reality overrides that doubt and the very real possibility of AI being rouge. And i feel if Ben were to make an AI that then goes rouge.. He would be in denial, the typical mad scientist that is just so excited and amazed at his creation, he ignores the threat that its posing on humanity. Imagine that if all of us as individuals were going about our day as normal until a tipping point is reached and we become absorbed by an aggregate intelligence. As individuals, we would be like a single cell organism. Still functioning like we were before, but losing our individuality. Our context would be very different. We now live for this aggregate life form performing Kreb's Cycle so that it can stay alive.
