I'm just listening to this, it's 2020! My wife and I and some friends were discussing tithing last night. There was a time we gave 10% of our weekly income to the church. In the midst of that, we got into difficult times and sought help from our church but were turned away with the excuse that "we can't give money to everyone who comes to us for help." At that time we decided we would save and give away 10% of our income to those in need whose paths we crossed. This shift in giving changed our feeling of satisfaction drastically. We got to see immediate response.

I think the “Joest” Joe is when he really wants to understand someone else’s viewpoint that he doesn’t believe in. Like Duncan said, Joe also wants to get out of his own “reality tunnel” and dive into the other persons tunnel because he sees that there is some lesson to learn from their point of view. Losing yourself is how you find yourself in a weird contradictory way lol

@HorizonHipHop
@HorizonHipHop 6 жыл бұрын
@@snavisTM I never said they didn't have an original thought, I'm simply saying if you're the only person locked in a room forever or only person on earth you would never become intelligent to begin with, we learn from trial and error and everyone that came before us and is here with us, we learn together. Upon learning from other people you then have the ability to think of other ways maybe to do things. To say Duncan has never had an original thought is foolish, everyone can have an original thought or inspiration but it's usually sparked by something you've learned or observed, internal creativity is usually sparked by outside stimuli..

You're welcome Whackashit. I've seen other comments of yours on the PowerfulJRE channel. My Canadian intuition says you're generally a positive person with a heart and mind in the right place. It doesn't have to be so rare, we can all be a bit nicer to each other. The worlds is a much better place for everyone when the balance of positive emotion outnumber negative emotion 3:1

Realizing there’s as many snakes in your heart as there are in mine but still offering your hand in friendship because that’s the only way to truly transcend both of us as individuals and not members of a sex or ethnicity, but rather, just humans of earth.. I know I’m roughly paraphrasing Jordan Peterson, btw, but it’s so simple yet so powerful and true. This point was nailed down again in this podcast, and I can’t thank Joe Rogan enough for giving that message a a wide platform. If he never does another good thing for humankind, this podcast will suffice

I don't make a lot of money. I make enough that I'm happy and have a house, two kids, truck with gas in it, and bills are payed.. You don't have to make a million to leave a good tip.. I left a 150 dollar tip on a 30 dollar meal just because I had good things happen to me that week and felt like doing something good for someone else.. The waitress didn't get to tell me thank you till the next month I went to eat and she realized who I was and actually paid for my meal that night as a Thank you even though I tried to refuse but she wouldn't let me. But is he cool for spending incredible amounts of money (thousands) on T1 or T3 (can’t remember) internet JUST to play Quake online within lag? Money that could have been used to help those less fortunate between Quake binges on above average internet connections?
@Sound8VisionVibe
@Sound8VisionVibe 6 жыл бұрын
If he’s gonna spend those amounts on an INTERNET CONNECTION FOR QUAKE (let me reiterate) then at least half of what he spent on the connection, but if i’m being real I think he should, hypothetically, switch it around and match half of what he donated on the connection. But thats just me, maybe i’m a complete dumbass. God knows I love the internet, but it’s a bit excessive, then again it’s his money, and it’s my right to express my opinion.
@lightbulbsocket
@lightbulbsocket 6 жыл бұрын
Sound8Vision How do you know he didn't? For all you know he may have donated many times more than that in charitable contributions. Maybe he feels like it's a bad look to come out and say "I played quake but I spent this much more on charities than I did on quake". What need for that is there outside of some pointless virtue signaling?
@Sound8VisionVibe
@Sound8VisionVibe 6 жыл бұрын
You may very well be right, he may, and I plan on researching to find out when I get a moment, but I honestly cannot see how it would make him look bad if he said something like “I spent all of this crazy cash on internet connections, and I know thats way too much, but I was donating to a lot of charities at the time, so I feel like it kind of offset it.” He didn’t though, and he seemed very proud about it, although he did show realization of it being a waste of resources, if I remember correctly. Let’s keep in mind that he also once, as stated above, spouted the pointless virtue of “tipping $100 for a $2 cup of coffee.” Not much difference in my opinion. Don’t take it to heart too much though, i’m just enjoying conversation.
@lightbulbsocket
@lightbulbsocket 6 жыл бұрын
Sound8Vision I think it's fair to say that's a different scenario. The person he tipped almost definitely told all his friends about the time Joe Rogan tipped him a hundo. A charity would be far more likely to maintain the anonymity of their donors I would think. Could be wrong though. Also, haven't actually heard the part of their conversation where this comes up yet. So maybe that would change my mind.

I like Joey Diaz, but when he does his podcast he talks soft into the mic from a foot away at times, then all of a sudden he's screaming and I have to turn the volume down. That tends to repeat over and over.

The part about forgiving your younger self, emotional and love-shielding, and allowing kids to be themselves hit close to home. It’s so wonderful when Joe has Duncan on the show

I bet Joe warned Duncan before the show. Joe: "You better not bring up the elites coming to talk to me again." Duncan: "I'm worried about you, man."
