57:00 Karl’s point about chewing is actually scientifically true. I read recently that one of the reasons we evolved so quickly is because we stopped spending so much of our time chewing (chimps chew 16 hours a day) once we discovered fire to cook food, which allowed us to devote more time to other things like crafting tools, which caused us to rapidly develop intellectually!

To be fair, they all laugh at him for being dumb, but the moment he was asked “What superpower would you have,” his first thought was “Would this *really* make me happy?” A lot of people wouldn't think that far ahead.

@Deadman1000 that's because he's a character. He's on TV, and he's a character. Not only that, he's a character made to be mocked because of his "stupidity." I think the real Karl pops out every now and then, and this was one of those moments. I think it's very wise to ask a question like "Would this make me happy?" A lot of us don't do that.

Karl is just so honest about what he thinks. Say what you will about Karl but he is one of the most intellectually honest people ever and thats something more people should try to be. Gervais is indeed funny, with good good stand up show, but with only one hit show, the office, that was allowed by the powers that be to be franchised and become a hit in The US, allegedly? Why does the helliweird satanick masonick US/UK sweetheart, ever so boastful, mocking, namedropping,totally relatable, down to earth ,self made, everyday-common man from an ordinary working class family, and deceiving multimillionaire sellout seriously expect the discerning public to fall for the scripted , gaslighting and indoctrinating Schtick, allegedly? Isn’t the satanick masonick aethiest Gervais a shill aka and controlled opposition allegedly? Doesn’t the gender inverted female, Gervais comes from french elite bloodline family, allegedly ? How has Gervais been allowed to spill the beans and slag off top ranking ,high profile billionaire players from within the entire hellyweird entertainment industry at the Oscars without any repercussions to career allegedly? What spy agency does Gervais work for? Gervais just happens to be besties, with another UK/US failed actor comedian wannabe, Russell Brand, allegedly ? Who exactly is the mediocre, disgraced, failed multimillionaire and gender inverted female masquerader, actor comedian Russ Brand and who is working for? Why does Brand,another obvious hellyweird satanick masonick shill actor, aka controlled opposition, unfunny mediocre actor Complete with a similar fake totally implausible cover-story of being raised in a single parent poor working class home, complete with pseudo cockney working class type accent and with implausible tales of woe in order to garnish public sympathy and support of being a recovering sex addict,crack head, alcoholic and being so called disgraced and fired and black balled by the BBC Media machine and entertainment industry, allegedly? How Has Brand mysteriously re-invented herself on you tube with millions of followers, and comedy tours as a the fake, know- it all, Svengali so called new age guru, complete with sandals and robes, allegedly? Isn’t Brand too from an elite family and was assigned to US as a spy/handler and just happened to end up marrying and divorcing satanick masonick Helliweird entertainment industry’s high ranking Witch the A list pop-princess, Katy Perry and then proceed to date Princess Diana’s half sister, Jemima Goldsmith who is from an elite blood line family and just happens to be prime minister of Pakistan’s ex wife,allegedly? Aren’t The public wary of Gervais’s and Brand’s predictable pompous sellout schtik of mocking the public and flaunting their multimillionaire status while at the same time pretending to be down with the working classes, and sellout demanding done type of guru status with their aethiest indoctrinations all in the name of mocking and comedy, complete fake-empathy to mental illness, addictions and being poor, allegedly? Why do both Gervais and Russ Brand throw-up satanick masonick handsigns throughout their stand-up comedy shows to pay homage to their helliweird entertainment industry handlers, allegedly?

Ricky is a comedy legend but Karl saved this show. Ricky and Steve are pretty good but the unbelievable luck that Ricky caught here is amazing. Just by chance, Karl ends up in Ricky's orbit... think Karl was filling in for the producer or sound tech. It's like a Forrest Gump-type plot. But credit to Gervais for bringing KP onto the show and then recognizing that he struck gold. It's like the real life Joe Dirt.

@@temsedgwick9494 she suddenly went quiet, stopped eating and sunk the the bottom of the pond with lethargy. At egg laying season she only laid one egg but she’s never laid overly many so I didn’t think think much of it. But when she stopped eating and went lethargic I took her to my exotic vet who gave her a scan and found her stomach so full of trapped eggs that it was crushing her vital organs. Choice was euthanasia or attempt surgery with not a lot of hope because the sheer amount of eggs. So we tried surgery at a specialist. On the underside of the shell they cut out a square flap of shell so they can access the abdomen. Then they start removing the eggs one by one. When they are finished the wound is sealed and the shell flap is placed back into the hole and sealed with a water tight sealant. This gives time for the new shell to start growing and keeping deadly bacteria out at the same time. As terrapins/turtles are underwater she had to be dry docked for weeks to help stop bacteria getting in and we had to spray her multiple times a day to stop her dehydrating. She also had to have oral meds which is not fun to give a stubborn turtle! Also as turtles only eat under water she did have to be taken back to the specialist twice a week for tube feeds! I think there’s a video of the vet who did her surgery on Instagram under the name @markrowlandvet. In America apparently there’s a pioneering surgery now that doesn’t cut the shell but instead goes in behind the skin on the front leg? But I’m not too sure on this method

Not really "an idiot" if you don't memorise who's faces are on other nation''s currency. Can you name any faces on Sri Lankan money without looking it up? No? An easier one then: how about any of the Euro notes? Nope? You must be an idiot

Karl's actually completely right about how brain-sized computer access would rob mankind of their own sense of intellectual agency and it's great how he uses his own personal weaknesses as an example of why. That said, whether he's right or wrong, these podcasts are much more entertaining when Ricky and Steve mock his opinions.

I'm pretty sure he's wrong as well. Given an infinite timespan, it's possible that occurences will never happen or will never happen again. It's possible that you could throw a basketball at a hoop and literally never get it in. In terms of randomness, it's possible that a computer could randomly select numbers from 1-100 infinitely, and never select 28. It's not something that can be measured with probability either. Randomness is random, infinity is infinite. The absoluteness of those concepts means that scale and probability have no bearing. Might be wrong, feel free to ackhually me if you're a mathematician.
@MrLOLsteveLOL
@MrLOLsteveLOL 3 жыл бұрын
@@hpebackwards not a maths guy, but infinity doesn't really exist, just a concept and even within math it is not liked. Within the concept of infinity (which our brains do not like), given an infinite amount of time anything that could happen will happen eventually, maybe only once but yeah. The randomness and chaos of the universe is unquantifiable, so I would say there could be no absolute answer in such thought experiments. Mainly because the rules are defined by us, changing the rules or rather the concept of such a thought removes any point to reach any meaninful conclusion, might be talking shite here twice, but I gave ere a go and I won't be coming back.

@@MrLOLsteveLOL yeah I agree it's just intellectual masturbation really, but it's funny when people are smug and angry in their assumptions which aren't actually correct. I think infinity can be understood as something that will never be caught up to, like the rate of expansion and increased complexity of the universe that can't be followed by any of the matter within it.

The thing about an infinite number of monkeys (or a single monkey given infinite attempts) being guaranteed to type out the works of Shakespeare is mistaken, there will be infinite chances, but infinite chances doesn't guarantee any particular outcome (and it certainly doesn't [can't] guarantee all outcomes), for example with a single monkey given infinite attempts, the monkey could type the letter 'd' on each attempt, forever.
