One thing never discussed when I hear people talking about that "time travel stuff" is it would need to effect all the atoms and molecules constituting our body, because we don't want to arrive amputated and bleeding. And probably also the device enabling us to do that as we don't want to end up at a later point in time but still at the place where Earth happened to be on its orbit in the moment we started. Ah, I forgot, you want to travel interplanetary ... no, not that close, you want to go to quite another solar system, maybe another galaxy. Well then, you need to do a really precise measurement to aim to the exact spot to land and don't want to end up buried under 50 kilometers of rock above you. And that leaves out the problem how there would suddenly be space for you and your time travel device. If you and your time travel device are all "material" all the atoms in the place you go, are they just explode out to the side in kind if a big explosion? Now, of course someone can say my assumption is we start from 3+1D spacetime and want to end up on another 3D+1 spacetime and we should get rid of that too. But I feel I inclined to state: now you are going into speculation land where everything is possible.

Joe and Eric "ramble" for hours AND it is absolutely the best! I used to think Eric was an arrogant pompous ass. I have had a complete reversal on this. The man is compassionate and loves humanity with all of its achievements AND faults. His level of thought is far far beyond that of most highly intelligent people. And yet, he is not just wrapped up in some esoteric field of study to the exclusion of all else, but is looking at the world stage and assessing. Asking himself, Joe and others, how can we fix this? How can we back away from the edge of destruction we are rushing towards (on many fronts). Eric is a study in contrasts and a deeply complex human being. His decision tree examples show us how to think critically and actually separate emotions from the equation. Not that he would want the job, but a guy like Eric should be the one leading our country. This podcast is a must watch.

But then she remembered she thought the photo was boring so she took 2. She then showed me the 1st photo and it was exactly as I had described. Down to the fact she was a passenger in moving vehicle, the smell of an Ice Cappacino her Dad was drinking, the angle of the tree line matching my sketch...etc. I had even emailed the sketch to myself and it's timestamped 3hrs before she took the photo. 1:40:50 I thought geckos used the Van Der Waals forces to climb? Not a super important thing to pick out of everything here, but it was something that stood out to me when I heard it. I tried googling the differences between Van and the Casimir effect and which one geckos used just to be sure too, and it said they use Van Der Waals forces as well, but from my little understanding they looked pretty similar, just in different nanometer scales. Sorry to be so clingy on the matter lol😜🤓😁🧡🫶🦎

This to me is an explanation of the Terrance and Erik video. Even though Erik appeared to be blowing off Terrance’s thoughts on gravity, he obviously is interested
@oui26115 ай бұрын
The beautiful thing is that he gave Terrence his credit and also told him where he was incorrect while also adding that Terrence might not necessarily be incorrect and that there is a possibility that either Eric doesn't have a full understanding of some of Terrence's ideas or Terrence hasn't found a way to make his ideas sound cohesive enough. The whole lesson of that episode is "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". Something most people don't have the patience to do. Most people just completely shut Terrence down in a vitriolic way.

People that dismiss the possibility of UFO’s and other forms of life in the universe whilst orbiting a star on a planet 🌍travelling at about 67000 miles per hour, that are able to speak to people to tell them they don’t believe…. Always surprise me
@scottarnest89805 ай бұрын
My students and I did the math in astronomy class. At 25,000 miles per hour, it would take about 112,000 years to get to the nearest star. It is just basic algebra. Time dilation has zero effect until at least 50% the speed of light. (335,000 miles per hour). We need to go close (99%) the speed of light to make leaving the solar system viable. We are stuck here for a while unless we find a workaround.
