I really miss being an Uber driver here in Las Vegas sometimes. I did it full-time in 2020 and 2021. I made between 8k and 10k a month due to the shortage of drivers. I met so many cool and interesting people from all over the world. The driving in combination with the constant new human connection really helped me mentally. I was going through a very bad divorce at that time as well as dealing with PTSD from the military. Uber allowed me to cash flow the divorce and pay off some bills. It was also nice focusing on helping people. I was consistently in the top 10% of drivers in the city. I always kept my car clean and smelling good. I look forward to one day being in a position where I can completely leave my 9 to 5 career and step into an entirely new and completely independent chapter of my life.

My kid did jr and senior year high school on line. I watched her struggle. My long time journeyman electrician partner was basically her algebra teacher and I did my best with the other subjects. What Rogan said at 1:02:00 is exactly what is happening in Ft. Myers, Florida since Hurricane Ian. It was a very blue collar beach town and after the hurricane, people whose houses have been there for decades can't afford to rebuild their homes according to the onerous new building code. People are still living in FEMA-provided trailers next to their destroyed houses while they wait for insurance to help them out. At the same time, you're seeing people being forced to sell their houses and new vertical mansions are being propped up in their places.
@christoduplessis81776 ай бұрын
That is so sad, I lived on Sanibel back in 2007/08 and spent a lot of time in Fort Myers. It really was a blue collar beach town back then (for better or worse 😅). I have a lot of affinity for that part of the USA. Sending my regards from South Africa!
