Tim is right. Every doctor and nurse knows that rule #1 in regards to therapeutic communication with someone who is schizophrenic is: Never, EVER entertain or validate the hallucinations and/or delusions of a schizophrenic.
@haleyguthrie31137 ай бұрын
Same with alzheimers and Dementia
@aroccoification22 күн бұрын
Why not?
@sethstine469822 күн бұрын
@aroccoification because validating someone's delusion isn't therapeutic. It reinforces the delusion, which is caused by their mental illness. It's essentially adding fuel to the fire. It would be both highly unethical and cruel for a healthcare professional to entertain, reinforce, support, or give validity to the hallucinations or delusions that a schizophrenic is suffering from. "Yep, the CIA IS FOLLOWING YOU. Yes, your daughter did put an implant in your ear, is listening to your thoughts, and is planning to kill you." No!!! The nurse and/or doctor knows that these thoughts are NOT reality. The same common sense is applicable if someone is being treated for anorexia nervosa. If they say, "Look at me; you know I'm a fat disgusting slob." You don't VALIDATE that comment. You wouldn't say, "ya know, you're right, I agree. You could stand to lose a few more pounds."

It was a Missle that hit the Pentagon, according to their top man, who identifies explosions from seeing what remains. He was overseas, in Asia, and saw a headline he couldn't read, and a tragic picture he recognized. It was The Pentagon where the "plane" left damage. Without being able to read the headline, he absolutely knew that damage was from a Missle, without doubt. That was from many years of examining what created damage from the aftermath. He couldn't read the headline, but absolutely recognized damage from a Missle. 100% positive, it was a Missle!👌

Yep, I agree. Cigarettes were the hardest to kick. In the early 2000s I was a teen party animal that turned in to a meth/speed addiction. After five years of that I kinda got bored of it/the lifestyle,the people,the drama exc. so I dropped that easy.Drinking then amped up and that took a minute but I dropped that and never looked back. But cigs took the longest and with the most physical/mental withdrawals that lasted over a year.

Theres a documentary (cant remember the name) where the architect that designed the Twin Towers explains that the collapse was due to the way it was constructed. Not the usual skyscraper construction method. The 2 building had load bearing beams that ran up the sides of the entire building. A framework that had each floor bolted into the frame. The intense heat from the fire weakened the bolts and they eventually failed causing one floor to drop onto the one below like a pancake. The combined weight and force of the dropping floors caused the floors underneath to break free and this continued until it went to the bottom floor. Causing it to collapse within itself.
