It was after this meeting that someone told me the brother of this creature had been put down after it had torn the arm off a keeper and beaten him to death with it. Genesis points out that we are made of the same dirt as the animals, and that we are to be our brother's keeper, two legged or four. We tend to ask the wrong things of The Bible, it's a theological text eith historical references and reflections, it's not a "historical" or "scientific" text as we read it today, its more profound, pointing out instead how the creation stories of their neighbors, of how m*rder, r*pe, and d*ath, brought the world into being were wrong. If life has love and love (agape) gives meaning to life, how could creation come from such depravity and evil? We are a very good creation, and we were always meant to be, we made so really bad choices, and one if them is forgetting that in baring the Image, we are stewards of all life, from the lowliest fleas to the mightiest of beasts, not to rule, to Sheppard, to help grow, ti use the unique-muchness that each if us has to enrich and brighten the world around us, truly cultivating the Garden as it were. And if you don't theology, here's the ine that got me, if matter can be neither created nor destoryed, sinply changing the state, the each of us is composed of the trace particles of the many who came before us and will be part of the many that come after us (dust to dust (sorry)) so why poison the dust? If we're all future worm poop, why not leave the place better than we found it instead of leaving things for the moths. (Probably should have given that last but a nihilism warning first)

I think an interesting theory is that at some point in history humans started fucking around with magic mushrooms, which resulted in a fast-tracking of our mental development and increase in brain-size, and they eventually formed some sort of religion around these mushrooms. they figured out magic mushrooms come from cow shit, and thus saw that it was important to protect the cows. I think that theory makes as much sense as any other.
