My brother lived in the Congo in the bush for two years when it was called Zaire. When he returned, he was even more quiet than usual. He went from 5'10" and 170 lbs, to 140 lbs. and almost died twice; once from amebic dysentery, and once from malaria. He's 6 years older than me and I was still a teen at that time, so he saw that I was trying to figure out how to deal with his PTSD, so he started teaching me Lingala and Mbaka. I have no idea how to spell those languages. He didn't want to teach me French, which was also spoken there, for some reason. I can say that my brother is definitely a genius. My dad was a member of MENSA but seemed moronic next to my brother. But unlike my father, my brother was always more mature than his contemporaries. But when he returned from Africa, it was as if he had emotionally aged another ten years. Whatever he saw, and he only gave me glimpses, changed him forever. Years later, when I asked him why he was so quiet and pensive after his return, he thought for a moment and said, "It took me a while to get used to people complaining about the most insignificant things. The people I lived with in the jungle had nothing. If they had shoes, that was very unusual. Before I left, I gave them everything I had. I realized that they needed those things so much more than I did." My brother, to this day, is my hero.

There was always scary political stuff going on in that region as well. He still doesn't talk about it. He only mentioned good things like sitting by a campfire in what he said was the darkest night you've ever seen be ause there wasn't any artificial light for miles. Suddenly, a rhino ran up from the bushes and started stomping out the fire. The people from Zaire he was with calmly, but quickly got out of the way and didn't seem phased. When the rhino was done and left. My brother asked what that was all about. They told him that rhinoceroses put out fires when they see them! I don't know if that's a belief they have or if it's really what rhino's do, but that night, that's exactly what that particular rhino did.🤣

I'm half Congolese and half French Caribbean currently living in Brazzaville and yes I confirm we have pretty interesting stories here. But the thing is that actually many people really live according these beliefs. Mokele Mbembe, Mermaids, Succubus and Incubus/Night lovers, mystic cats, talking trees, mystic forest, witchcraft etc....

It said that some kids can be tied with mermaids during childhood and has to bring them many types of gift.

People call me the 'The Real Living Forrest Gump' because my stories are 100% true & unbelievable but even with my unbelievable stories couldn't tell them like he did. His storytelling is very much captivating, colorful & in today's world that we LIVE in, very much needed even if parts are not truth. As long as he isn't hurting anyone, what's wrong with that? Sure, like most, I would love to hear stories from Elon, Gates, or some rags to riches stories like my own from living out of a car blowing balloon animals & performing street magic in miami in order to just survive, to later being on movie sets, to performing all over the world for the top 2% wealthiest & richest we have amongst us for the past 25 years. His stories once a week, like good 'click bait' would draw me back to Joe. With all due respect Sir Miller, it's Joe that I really support! Just like you. XoXo

Mike Studmuffin I don’t think he murdered him. He almost said the guys name and if he was smart about it he wouldn’t even mention the German guy in the story

@Mike Studmuffin how did he murder the german guy if the german guy was the one translating what the pygmy people were saying

Mike Studmuffin if he murdered him he wouldn’t even bring him up because he would have to erase his whole existence or makeup the last half of the story
@amelist81234 жыл бұрын
@@beaups10 He mentioned a peace corp guy named Chris. Who he also said wouldn't say anything if he killed the German guy. So in order for Chris not to say anything he must first have something to not say so he must have been there also.

Big props for David talking about tact. The lost of art of being polite.
@reuniteireland3 жыл бұрын
What a fascinating story, even 10% of this story would have been enough. David is an interesting dude. Can't help but be captivated bya guy who is willing to just fly into a war zone and wander off into the jungle in search of a dinosaur.

Real talk, that's a big boss move. Sigma male grindset 😤💯
@zzodysseuszz3 жыл бұрын
@@ActionJackson669 sigma male grind set is meant to be ironic. Take things that are horrible bad decisions and then make them seem chad. Like the one grindset meme about the guy who committed war crimes and then drank poison in court.

Going blind into the Congo looking for a lost dinosaur is a hell of a way to celebrate high school graduation
