Very true, except his take on open borders. We shouldnt be forced to be unsafe because of corruption. The elite will continue to benefit while the rest of us suffer. Hes looking at the situation through a lens without really understanding it. He implies everyone coming over are just our local hard working mexicans who want a better life too. This simply isnt true. You talk to people on these Venezuelan and african caravans of all men and they even say there were people in that group they were scared of. There are people coming over who wish us harm and hate and blame us for their situation. His take is socialism. You open the flood gates and wages go down, you now have people who will work for nothing because its better than what they have. This benefits the elite, again. You also have people coming over who hate our culture or dont mesh with it or want to change it. We are aloud to exist, this isnt our fault. Its a complex situation no one has the answer for, but i bet it could be solved if the corrupted entities werent so corrupt. The issue shouldnt be opening our borders, it should be paying cobalt workers a real wage because these corporations arent passing any savings on.

louis is so good at breaking down the bare bones of something. joe isn't a complicated guy but hearing him talk about his adolescence and first fights is so genuine. i remember being in a similar state. small, thin little nerd. was sick of getting pushed around and literally joined the wrestling team and started going to martial arts practices. it's not even a matter of being physically bigger and stronger. it's knowing how to keep your cool and be able to put someone who doesn't know what they're doing on their back. that confidence keeps people from messing with you in the first place (usually)

Sometimes Joe kinda misses the point, he's so defensive about his whole "I take care of my body and I'm feeling amazing all the time bro" stance, that he completely misunderstood what Louis was even trying to say. He took it as an insult towards him and didn't realize that Louis was trying to say, you'll never find that perfect balance... You'll always have to work to feel good, and the more of these little bits people add to their regimen, the more supplements you find, the more silly routines you go to... You'll never just wake up one day and be perfectly insulated from things. You'll never be in a perfect equilibrium, and there are plenty of people who do none of that shit, who are living completely productive and fulfilling lives, and never have to do all these extra things to "feel great physically"

Y’all are projecting laziness towards fitness big time. Not for everyone because we can’t all dig deep and break our selves everyday in order to recover and grow. You mentally are not capable and you should just say that. Physically testing yourself everyday after a work day overpowers your mental state and is not fathomable. Your comments sound just like this new trend of people saying “working out won’t stop a bullet”. Why are you so threatened by a man in shape that guns are being brought up. Screams insecurity.
@TheHive616
@TheHive616 5 ай бұрын
@@ZachA-si3qz the only person projecting is you... I am in great shape and I work out every day. Aside from Sunday, that's the drinking day. Point is, there's never going to be a point where you're "perfectly healthy" and Louis was only saying that, like anything else, there's a sense of fanaticism that can come with this idea of achieving perfect health... Perfect health doesn't exist. Congrats on finding a way to sound like a dick online and pretending you're some sort of fitness wizard. I'm sure the crushing loneliness is made up for every time you look in the mirror and are in slightly better shape than other Americans... Incredibly low bar, by the way, America is the only country where poor people can be obese.

Most of us in the real world have little time to think about "how to balance" or how to feel good- MOST people are literally just trying to survive and raise dez children. It's such a PRIVILEGE to have the time, energy, even interest in the cold plunging, aywaska, mushroom micro dosing, spa sauna days. It's becoming a little cringe to listen to the absurdity of this. I've loved JR for his relatability. The more popular he gets, the more privilege, the less I'm able to relate to him. Idk maybe that's a resentment I need to take a look at❤🎉

As a photographer that concentrates mostly on very vulnerable people with dementia, what Louis said about the media showing up to mass shootings, really has me reflecting on what is the purpose of media exposure and documenting reality that clearly has a great deal of suffering in it. I don't know if I have any clear-cut answers there honestly. I can say that I do totally agree with the idea that we allow people to breathe, and take time out of respect when there is a crisis situation before we jump into it looking for interviews. I'm glad he said that because I think we have numbed ourselves as a society and don't always respect people's privacy. It is very much an entitlement to people's misery and loss.

Always leave people better than how u found them. If u live by this it's hard to do wrong. Do u exploit the people you photograph, take their picture and run? Or do u have a special way to enrich each person you photograph? That would be the difference. War photographers and journalists who document famines get heat for "exploiting starving people" etc, but the question is, do thy also bring aid and succor behind the camera

In order to be a great comedian, you first have to be a philosopher. Philosophers are constantly asking themselves, "but why?" ...It's in pursuit of the why-is where he discovers the absurdities of the "what is" In either case, it means lots and lots of time spent inside one's own head

4 minutes in and I'm commenting. I'm an FOH audio engineer who has certainly done my fair share of concerts. Between 200 and 500 shows a year for the last 40 years. I still get nervous before every show. I used to get nauseous, fortunately that has eased up. But just prior to the show I sit there in the middle of the room, surrounded by the audience, and I think things like, "Everybody here took time that they could be doing anything else but they chose to be here because they know it's going to be special. Some saved for months. Some planned for months. Some came from the farthest side of the earth. Just to be here and witness a group of people doing something awesome. Every one of them deserves awesome. The last thing they need is some sound guy getting in between them and and the beauty that is about to take place in the room." Then the first note hits and I'm instantly in my element. It's what I do. I deliver the artist to the seats. I'm perfectly calm every minute the artist is on stage. (Well... most days... ;-))

Bruh I've run sound too. What is the 'i deliver the artist' bullshit and being nervous tripe. Literally run your lines and double check your levels. I've performed as well and the nerves between the two are NOTHING alike.
@Twongo
@Twongo 4 күн бұрын
@@royaltoadclub8322 "Deliver the artist to the seats" bullshit is literally the only job of the audio engineer. It is the prime directive. Running lines and checking levels is in direct service to that goal. I have also performed as well. I didn't get nervous preshow. And now that I think about it, I wonder if it's because I didn't take performing as seriously. I know full well that I've never written a song that people will remember. But when I'm doing sound I'm working for people that have written songs that are dear to people. I don't want to be the guy that keeps the audience from getting the most appropriate representation of what the artist is laying down.
@Twongo
@Twongo 4 күн бұрын
@@royaltoadclub8322 Delivering the artist to the seats is the sole responsibility of the audio engineer. It's the prime directive. Running lines and checking levels is the second step in a long list of actions necessary to accomplish that goal. If you've ever been to a show that sounds bad, one or more of the things in that list have been compromised by whatever means. I too, have performed. I rarely got nervous. Now that I think about it, I wonder if it's because I just don't take it as seriously. I know full well that I have never written a song that people want to hear again. There's no pressure in being background noise. But some of the artists I do sound for have written songs that are special to people. I get nervous because I want everyone to get what they came for. The systems I use are complex and any failure on my part could interrupt the enjoyment of hundreds and thousands of people. Bruh

Delivering the artist to the seats is audio engineers sole responsibility. The prime directive. Running lines and checking levels is the second task in a long list of actions necessary to achieve that goal. If you've ever heard a bad sounding show it's because one or more of those actions has been compromised in some way. I too, have performed in front of audiences. For some reason I rarely got nervous. Thinking on it now, I suspect it's because I didn't take it as seriously. I know full well that I've never written a song that people have wanted to hear a second time. There is no pressure in being the background noise. On the other hand, some of the people I do sound for have written songs that the people of the world do want to hear again. And who am I to stand between them and that which they came to hear? Well... I'm the sound guy. Not only do I not have the right to deny each and every seat the experience they paid for, I would be derelict to do so. I believe my nervousness was explained clearly in the lines in quotes in my original message. Have you never driven to work thinking, "Shit, did I leave the oven on?" But really, the point I was trying to make is probably more apparent in context to what Louis was saying around the 4 minute mark - the three sentences surrounding the bit of the statement that you found so offensive.
