Actually got a picture, autograph and $100 tip from Louie back when I was a mechanic at Sears. He had a blowout on the highway and pulled off to the closest shop. Real cool dude, we kept his privacy by doing business in the back away from the store front, but we chatted the whole time he was there. At the time he was driving a Ford Flex, which had 20 inch wheels so we didn't have a tire in stock. He was about to buy 4 rims and 4 tires if they were in stock, but I ended up putting his spare for him, but he was still super grateful. At the time, I told him I had a fiancée and that we were huge fans; he then took a pic with me, gave me his autograph, and $100 tip. On his way out and after giving me the tip, he told me to buy her something nice, instead I got the photo framed with his autograph and the $100 bill. The autograph said "thanks for almost fixing my fucking car" I was perfectly roasted.

1:51:45 Louis really nailed it here! When you change to make a situation work, then it's no longer you that is experiencing it, it's a false version of you. This creates a disconnect between who you are and who you're pretending to be. If you can't be yourself while you do something, it's not worth doing no matter what the potential rewards appear to be.

I had that same experience back in highschool, I am 34 now, where I fought another kid and we were taken to the principal's office. While waiting for the principal to call us, they made us sit next to each other which took like forever and I am not sure if they intended it just so we would have time to cool down and get bored and start talking to each other but it worked. By the time we were called to get to the principal's office we were already best mates. We continued being best friends until he died 13 years later.
