As a veteran, when it got to that 3 hour, 4 minute mark, I couldn't help but start to briefly cry. To speak about something, so raw, so real, in a conversation full of raw real ideas. They were good tears, almost as if we (those who may have felt at times like we simply fell through the cracks of the system that was supposed to 'acclimate' us.) were being brought up in one of the most real conversations. Between JD and Tulsi, I feel represented, I feel heard, I feel like fighting again.

@3:03:58 I'm an Army retired veteran. When I was discharged I came back home stateside and decided to get a job rather than just enjoy my pension. While working I started to have paranoid thoughts. Like someone was out to get me. I started checking locks every few hours. I started sleeping with a weapon under my pillow. (Luckily I never laid to hard and blew my skull clean off.) I even quit my job and locked myself in my home. My pops convinced me to go to the local V.A. They diagnosed me with combat PTSD. I have been seeing a therapist and psychiatrist for about a few years now and fortunately it's been helping me. At first it was difficult to even leave my home to get to my appointments but I did it. Many soldiers suffer from PTSD. I appreciate Joe Rogan remembering that we exist. 🤘🏾

Freedom and the pursuit of happiness.. the kind that our ancestors of every color and creed sacrificed for. The kind that makes up the culture of our beautiful United States of America that runs deep within all of us who share that DNA, and that this America may once again return!
