Yeah i am from the Netherlands and we were a great contributor to slavetrade and i am in no way telling slavetrade isn´t bad, but what people don´t tell who really controlled this trade were these were african sellers off the coast who sold those people, the ships didn´t go in africa capturing black people. And people forget when they bought a slave it was already an investment they were paid for so they were treated as so, when making they voyage to america. More so than white sailors because when they died they didn't have to pay them anymore but get my drift there were more deads among whites then blacks on these ships so when looking at a film like amistad it isn't really black and white. People need to understand its not that simple. And i can tell you a lot more lets say an african tribe plundered and ransacked a village, what to do with the people of the village it would be killing all the men because taking them capture needs feeding them and children could go grow up to take revenge, the woman who might be weaker would be raped and enslaved or also killed but now they could sell them and be rid of them. Offcourse this option spiked the ransacking and plundering by these africans. But these are subjects not really taught at schools but it is all documented pretty well. People should also teach about the abolishment of child labour in our countries which came even after the abolishment of slavery in my country just to put history in perspective. If we talk about 200 years ago do you understand that people were decapitated, hanged or whatever on village squares and it would be a family thing just like going to the carnaval. The thing is if we talk about history maybe really understand history and what motivated people and learn from it. You can't talk about same rights if you don;t even understand were these rights came from they didn't just poofed up. The same with looking at other countries and your own when you are saying banning tiktok etc.. is against China why not adress the banning of google, youtube etc.. and even Tiktok in China. What is diversity when we should be standing for unity amongst eachother.

Let's see him actually debate a REAL public intellectual. He's too busy being platformed on Murdochs' sky news, spewing lies about Israel and palestine and criticizing woke while reaping the benefits of woke gay marriage for himself. He needs to be put in his place. I think he's too busy sitting atop his imaginary thrown, casting flak at vulnerable people and being a two-faced lier.

So brave of him to frequent Murdochs' sky news and lie about Palestine/Israel. So brave of him to never debate a REAL public intellectual, no he's too busy sitting atop his imaginary thrown casting flak at vulnerable people. He loves to criticize woke at the same time as reaping the benefits of gay marriage. Dude needs to be taught a lesson about intellectual integrity and truth.

@themezoner1349 Does it feel good to lob out slurs? Do you validated when you call people who you don't agree with racist? Why don't you call any other country with a national identity racist? Why is it only white majority countries that must be burdened with a never-ending flow of low-skilled needy people? 🤡
@carltaylor645226 күн бұрын
Appreciate the sentiment, but it kind of misses the point of what he argues. 😉
@carltaylor645226 күн бұрын
@@themezoner1349 Don't be silly. Murray is not racist. In fact, Europe is beginning to elect politicians further and further to the right precisely because the centre-left establishment has refused to heed the warnings of people like Murray and Hirsi Ali.
@themezoner134926 күн бұрын
@@carltaylor6452 The fact that he is aware of existece of the apartheid regime, dispossessions, cleansing of villages, the 700,000 illegal settlers (West Bank) and many other facts, but still argues in favor of the aggressive occupier, justifying mass killings of Palestinian children in every Israeli war, while amplifying the effect of each Palestinian slingshot fired and intercepted by Israel, tells me how he views tbe Palestinian life as less worthy. Btw, divisions between 'the right" and "the left" is becoming irrelevant for me - both have a few good arguments, i.e. the right is correctly criticizing the identity politics, the left is correctly criticising the military-industrial complex propaganda, especially on the support to Israeli wars

As a middle-aged successful academic from Europe (Germany) who lived 3 years in the US, I absolutely agree on the tall puppy syndrome. In the US was the first time anyone outside my family congratulated me for my success and really meant it, no matter if they were successful themselves or not. Combine that with the special case of basically no national pride being allowed as a German, the US felt like another world to me and I really enjoyed it. Also not blaming others for your own mistakes is the other side of the coin I also experienced in the US.
