I don't have an isolation tank but I take a 60F cold bath with Himalayan salt after a workout every morning, 84 minerals which soak into the skin throughout the day and totally energize you and are great for muscle recovery. No BS, it clears my mind, makes me happier and think better, the cold is amazing for blood flow. I think that's why surfing is so good for well being, the cold and the salt. I know people poke fun at his tank but I reckon there's light in this!
@JA-ld3it5 жыл бұрын
@@jazzerson7087 how do you get into water that cold lol
@jazzerson70875 жыл бұрын
Shower spray buddy, I gradually decrease the temp spraying my body as the bath fills and monitors the temp, you soon become accustomed to it so it doesn't shock your body. It is an amazing thing to do to your body as it goes into an altered state. Similar to what Joe says about deeper meditation in his tank, in the cold something happens, it's a strange, primitive feeling, almost like you go back to the beginning of time! Hard to explain it, the salt marvellous for nutrition and skin too. Everybody should try it!
@jazzerson70875 жыл бұрын
Though you're out of your comfort zone, you become accustomed to the cold and feel a greater sense of peace oddly enough when you train your mind to zone out and ignore the temperature, in my head I'm peacefully floating on a mountain salt lake surrounded by forests or something, it's a harmonious feeling! The bath needs to be as full as possible when you do it and you need to do it for about half hour for full effect, a great test for the mind. You'll notice significant improvements to your health within a few minutes of getting out, most noticeably respiratory, and later in the day, greater energy, mental clarity and strength. Plus any time I feel a cold coming I take one teaspoon of the pink salt in the morning and in the evening and it blasts it within 24 hrs, powerful stuff! Hope that helps somebody somewhere.

Majinjef2099 Hi. Thank you for the comment. It is rarely that I do write here though I like to read. I am a bit curious about floating and I stumbled over this. The reason I am writing this is that I liked your description of how you had an „automeditative“ trance. It is an unusual yet interesting choice of an adjective to me for that particular experience of yours. Yet I understand you had what I like to call as something induced from outside in lack of words. Same with drugs, it is a let us say rather simple approach and passive way of getting into a different „state“!? So sorry for the long post. You are absolutely right about the intimacy of each own‘s experience and I do not really believe that one can share this. So thank you again for having read your helpful comment. I would like to try it but I would love to be able to dive deep even with all the hammering around me of the world. Ein Meditationsschüler. Kind regards from Germany, Chris

I can't remember where I posted about cold baths here, but I read an article recently on cold baths/showers setting off the same CB1 receptor in the brain as smoking weed, no wonder I feel good doing it haha! I also read something about eating certain plants before meditating alkalizing the body and mind and allowing for deeper meditation. The salt exposure in the tank probably has the same effect if you think about it!

*+Hunter The Gr8* Whether it is or not depends on you. If you're the weak type that tends toward internalized victimhood, self-pity, or self-loathing (in contrast to the ones who do it outwardly for external validation from others while internally being arrogant bags of shit), you'll tear your own mind apart in an iso tank. Sensory deprivation puts you 100% in your own head and if you can't deal with the shit in there, you'll lose it and scream to get out. There's a LOT of fear in the nothing.

If you are interested in trying a float tank just do it!! You are called to it for a reason, you need it in your life. Whilst some people may not be able to relax entirely, I have found that every float session is entirely different. I have floated about 6 or so times now, and my most recent experience was the most profound. It felt like I was able to completely relax my body & begin to a receive information from a higher source. Each has their own journey to explore, but Joe nails it perfectly.
