I think the UFC should pay its fighter what they deserve.Many fighters barely manage to earn 6 figures a year.

The reason it can`t pay like boxing is there are multiple great fights per card..... Are you will to pay $100 for a ppv with 1 main fight and all undercards?

They do pay their fighters what they are worth. If the fighters were worth more, they would go to another organisation and earn more.

If you're name puts more asses in seats, sells more tickets and pay to watch you, you get paid more. Thats how the business works. 50k for fighters that dont move the needle is ridiculous. You get what you bring in. Of course people should be paid well for taking concussive blows to the head but they know the financial risks of being a pro fighter.

UFC had a massive upward spectator and hype curve from mid 2015 though well into 2016. All the stars aligned for Frittias sell at its absolute zenith and gain the 4 billion. Rhonda Rosey had broken through to the mainstream creating huge buzz and sales. Coner McGregor was equally huge. Jon Jones had returned and was looking to continue as the GOAT. Wonderboy Thompson looked to be the next big thing. CM Punk was creating waves. Bispings trashing out of Rockhold was hugly memeroble. Robbie Lawler was providing entertaining bloody battles. Sage Northcutt was to bring in a an new wave of fans targeting god faring, polite, white college kids. Cyborg was getting her own division so she could terminate opposition. WME saw all this and said they want in, but alas it was an aboration of a really special 18months in the UFCs history. Overpaid for sure. You've got to know when to Fold Em.

We have no clue as to their business model. They could have a long term outlook that nobody else has. Maybe they are planning on UFC being the next NFL, NBA or NHL. We just have no clue at this point what they are planning. In 20 years time 4 billion will only have cost 2.3 billion and on top of that they may have grown the brand 20 fold.

The NFL and it’s combined value over all 32 franchises is about 75 billion....the popularity of all of the NFL is more than the UFC by far. The 4 billion dollar price tag on the UFC was too high and you can see by the WWE antics being pulled that they’re having to struggle mightily to make those interest payments.

4b is a bit much but UFC has a higher ceiling than NFL. MMA is global, NFL is mainly US. They tried marketing NFL outside, nobody cares.

UFC just signed an ESPN deal, $750 million for 5 years $150 million a year for 15 fights and still have 12 fights to sell to other broadcasting brands, plus they're still doing PPV. NFL is how old compared to UFC/MMA? UFC is at least universal, markets in Russia, Asia, Netherlands, Brazil etc. The UFC brand is huge and it was smart choice made by WME.

Paul if they don't screw it up it could be pretty good NFL is shit though I can't even believe how much money they make it's just a dumb sport to begin with ramming your head into each other like goats til you literally have brain damage from just playing the game normally I don't even know why I ever even wanted to play it I think maybe I thought it would get me girls or something who knows I probably have brain damage from playing football so I can't remember

Hell no!! UFC was at it's peak right when Jones beat Shogun. After that began to trend downward. Today and for awhile they have too many cards, thin fight cards, everybody fight for interim belts, people get unwarranted title shots and some fighters avoid fights to get a title fight..."McGregor"

The UFC has a massive cultural popularity. Most people in America know what it actually is and everybody in the 20s would know what it is and probably could name McGregor or other fighters without actually having seen them fight. If WME have a long term strategy the 4 billion they paid could look like peanuts.

The UFC needs to go all in on fight pass and put the PPVs included on there. Nobody wants to pay $60 especially for shows that quality wise are always fluctuating. PPV is a dying medium and subscription based programming like Netflix, Hulu even WWEs network seem to be what’s having the most success.

+G G The UFC going digital is quite a unique ideal, of course they'll have to promote their fight events heavily on social media sites like KZbin, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat while relying on monthly subscriptions, livegate, and sponsors / advertisements for their revenue.

Fighters make the UFC, fighters don’t make much money anymore therefore can’t promote themselves outside the octagon. UFC needs to pay the fighters more or let them have limit one or two sponsors for each fighter. UFC will only be as rich as their fighters become, the more sponsors the more press a fighter could get, more press, more hype, more hype bigger fights. But In the end, UFCs greed will be their downfall.

Joe and John's talent, along with the broken bodies and brain damage of hundreds of fighters, created the 4,000,000,000 profit for the owners of the UFC, 4 billion divided by 200 UFC shows is a 20 million surplus per show. Joe doesn't owe the new capitalist gangsters at WME anything, all they want is more money, the UFC is done, fuck them. Joe would be worth millions to another mma organisation, his name and net work power alone would massively increase Bellator's pay per view revenue.He could ask Bellator for 10 million a year, and earn twice that for their company in pay per views.
@leanmchungry4735
@leanmchungry4735 2 жыл бұрын
@Womb Raider Dana White and the Fertitta's did well, 4 billion is nice clean folding money for the blood sports. I don't have a better suggestion than capitalism, but just to say that all that wealth wasn't just created by the Fertittas and White. Hundreds of brain damaged fighters with broken bodies were paid peanuts for creating that capital that White and the Fertittas banked. Fuck Dana White, he should pay his fighters more of what they earn for the company.
@leanmchungry4735
@leanmchungry4735 2 жыл бұрын
@Womb Raider "the UFC is only paying its fighter 16 percent of its total revenue, as of 2019. The report reads that fighters only cost the UFC less than $150 million last year. That is 16 percent of the company’s total $900 million in revenue. Other sports leagues such as Major League Baseball (MLB) or the National Football League (NFL) pay their fighters around 48 to 50 percent." Tony Soprano had more generosity than Dana White.
