My friend was in Mexico for a honeymoon. I don't think he realised how close he was to all of this. He says it was the best holiday he has ever had. Turns out the places he went to are run by the mafia so tourists can have a good time.

Mexico is pretty safe in parts. I walked around late at night no problems for years. The issue is one town is safe while 200km north its a warzone.

Rogan said a while back that he was in Mexico with his family at a resort and when they got tho the edge of the little resort town there was a police or military checkpoint (can’t recall which specifically) that were there to protect the tourists and the tourism industry.

There are drugs that will destory a person no matter how you regulate it. Meth or Crack is a good example. But we should do it with some of the drugs for sure. Clean Heroin isnt as bad, there are people on it for decades and still do a good job at work.

In city centers like Bangkok and Phuket however, you are far more likely to get caught and face criminal charges. Medical is legal but never for tourists! Did this change in the last 8 months?

I live in nuevo laredo tamaulipas and work in the US, just yesterday there was a shootout between the military and cartel, 8 cartel members were killed and 3 innocent, tied up, kidnapped corpses were discovered afterwards, tensions never stop, the cartel kidnaps extorts and kills anyone who is not from here or from our bordertown due to rivals trying to sneak in and take over, overall it's too late to be stopped

What he is saying is THE ONLY WAY to stop the Cartels. It's just economics : - they make between $15-50 billion a year (the video above says $100B a year) - this is a about 75% of the Mexican state budget - there is absolutely no way you can fight a group/ entity making $100B a year - making drugs legal is the only way to starve them off. There is no other way.

My friends friend went missing and no one had any clue what happened to her. Like a month later they found her car in Mexico completely burned up and abandoned on some desolate road. No body was ever found. Her friends tried contacting her through like ouji boards or witchcraft or seance and they said they finally heard a message from her saying something like "im in a good place. that small town where there was an explosion is 15 minutes south of my home in Mexico.... I agree in that the demand of drugs in the U.S is incredibly profitable and seems unlikely that there could be a single solution. you take one out another one takes over. I live in Long Island where living expenses are extremely high yet you here of local drug dealers making good money. Cant imagine what what bringing that profit in dollars to mexico must be to the people profiting.

@@Gblonkers I know the difference between accents I lived in the UK briefly. And I call each one differently, when I say British I mean England, I'd say Scottish, Welsh, or Belfast separately. But accents change, it tends to take about 3 years. And in about 8 at minimum your accent is mostly gone. In highschool I dated a girl from Spain and she sounded more and more American after time passed, but she was only in the states for a year and a half so she still said "yes" like "jes

Will a accent dilute sure but disappear completely? No. An Infant or someones accent which hasn't truly developed may loose it. regardless of how much force we use they will keep popping back up. we get rid of one cartel and open the door for the next to take over. when you use full on force, which latin america has tried countless times, the casualties of civilians and the chaos in areas with innocents just increases even further. we need to change the way we think about substance abuse and legalize all these drugs that the cartel are profiting from. clean needles and a place to stay is a much better route than death by fentanyl. drug use is incredibly stigmatized and the sooner we learn to accept and attempt to change our viewpoints the sooner we’ll see a decline in overdoses

I really like this guys books. Hes one of the few non fiction authors who’s books I’ve reread. They are perfect for when I was working overnight in a convenience store and wanted to do something other than stare at my phone when it was slow. I also can tell this guy is a real deal journalist who is a different breed than most, notice how he didn’t try to pimp his books one time, super refreshing, lol. People in the uk have always wanted drinking laws to be the same as over in Spain, Portugal but would never work as the kids have been brought up with a certain mentality that they would just cause chaos. Could you imagine groups of kids legally able to buy drink at 16 let alone drugs? (used to be 14 in some parts of the EU) I’m not talking about cannabis but the main killers (heroine, cocaine).
