regardless of how much force we use they will keep popping back up. we get rid of one cartel and open the door for the next to take over. when you use full on force, which latin america has tried countless times, the casualties of civilians and the chaos in areas with innocents just increases even further. we need to change the way we think about substance abuse and legalize all these drugs that the cartel are profiting from. clean needles and a place to stay is a much better route than death by fentanyl. drug use is incredibly stigmatized and the sooner we learn to accept and attempt to change our viewpoints the sooner we’ll see a decline in overdoses

I really like this guys books. Hes one of the few non fiction authors who’s books I’ve reread. They are perfect for when I was working overnight in a convenience store and wanted to do something other than stare at my phone when it was slow. I also can tell this guy is a real deal journalist who is a different breed than most, notice how he didn’t try to pimp his books one time, super refreshing, lol. People in the uk have always wanted drinking laws to be the same as over in Spain, Portugal but would never work as the kids have been brought up with a certain mentality that they would just cause chaos.
