Anslinger never said that. Hari just made it up. He's a serial liar who was caught for plagiarizing and had to quit his job at a major British newspaper and return a prize he received for his journalism. Anyone who believes anything he says is a fuckwit.

@@BPRbuster Clearly the drugs have fried your brain and your ability to control your emotions. I never even said I was in favor of the war on drugs, I'm pointing out that Anslinger never said that quote and that Johann Hari is a lying fraud. This needs to be told more often so people understand this. The power that people get over other people and the sense of superiority is why this remains an issue. @@youngpocket No. That's not how that works, if they legalized marijuana in my state, crime would go down. Not marijuana related crimes, obviously. Anybody with a fucking brain would know that... Violent crimes, along with petty crimes (like stealing), etc would go down. Reason being, they wouldn't feel so socially unaccepted and more people would use marijuana because it's legal (taking violent crime down because who is violent when baked?). It would also lessen alcohol abuse (also taking violent crimes down because many people are violent drunks).... Use your head.....

I am from Altoona (the town Anslinger grew up in), and I had a friend in high school who’s grandfather lives next to the graveyard Harry Anslinger is buried in. His grandfather has people knock on his door all time asking for the specific location of Anslingers grave. People go and smoke over it all the time. And also piss on it and stuff like that. There is currently a bill in the senate to legalize marijuana recreationally in PA. Times are changing for the better... Edit: I just googled it out of curiosity and I live 6 minutes from his grave.....what...the...fuck... Edit#2: I found out my great grandparents are also buried in the same cemetery, same plot and everything

I grew up with Billie echoing throughout our home. Her music is still ominous and beautiful to this day, even though it also brings back bad memories for me. My dad was an alcoholic schizophrenic, who was very abusive, both mentally and physically. I remember him beating my mother and her always locking herself in their bedroom afterwards playing Billie Holiday, full blast on the record player, while I would try to remain a shadow so I wasn’t the next in line. Didn’t always work. I remember the vinyl album cover with Billie in a side profile pic with gardenias in her hair. I used to climb Magnolia trees and pick the flowers (I can smell them even now) for my mother because I found them, at that young age, to be similar, and I would present them to her as gifts, realizing afterwards the fragility of such flowers when they would wilt away and their petals would fall to the table. That simple gesture somehow gave me an early perspective on life that became even more profound when I heard Billie’s music playing, since sometimes I would come home and find my mother’s bedroom door locked and hear Billie’s voice haunting those halls in our home, and I knew what had happened while I was away, playing with my friends or riding my bike. And sometimes I would look over and see those magnolia flower petals decaying on the kitchen table. During those times, when she would lock herself away from him, it was always “I’m a fool to want you”, “The man I love”, “Willow weep for me”, and other songs playing. But “God bless the child” was the one she would always play just for me. I think for “strength”. My own favorites by her are “Good morning heartache”, “I’ll be seeing you”, and “Gloomy Sunday”. Her music will forever resonate with me, even though I never grew up during that era. I thank my mother for that. Good Morning Heartache, has always been my true favorite since I was a kid, though, up until this day. I play it from time to time. Either in stereo, or in my head. Back then, and now. Rest well, Lady Day. Thank you.

I stumbled across Johann Hari's book-" Chasing the scream." as a fiend for not only the drugs but also any literature steeped in narcotic lore. Hari's voice speaks to the inner child within, reverting me back to the wunderkind kneeling, and listening attentively before him as an astute student greedily sponging up his arcane knowledge sprinkled in the sugar that is befits his most beautiful soul.

@stevenfjaxsen8464
@stevenfjaxsen8464 5 жыл бұрын
@Brian Fromps I’m confused? Why are you claiming that @River Peters is a “dick riding millennial” just because he made a reference about a word class MMA fighter? Also, if you are going to insult somebody for being something then please be able to at least spell the term correctly that you are accusing that person of being. Not to mention you also probably should make sure that the person whom you are hurling incorrectly misspelled insults at is of the correct age to correctly fit the description of your insult. @Uncle Ruckus obviously understands this simple concept. @River Peters Just wanted to say that you have a cool name as well man. My little nephew has the same first name as you. “River Cole Watson” and he is 18 now! Even though I liked the name River I really thought my older sister was a little to out there naming my nephew that while growing up 18 years ago. Because, being from the Deep South that was a name I thought he would get made fun of for having while growing up? But, I was obviously dead wrong about that. I like your reference to Tony Ferguson as well. But, I would counter with Jon Jones being the type of guy to turn the light off with a spinning elbow. lol But, neither of us are wrong here. @River Peters @Uncle Ruckus I wonder if that dipshit talking shit will be able to insert himself into a conversation without incorrectly misspelling the insults that I’m sure he will be hurling our way or maybe just my way after he reads this? I deliberately left out an obvious flaw pertaining to a certain comment to give you the chance for some much needed redemption. The flaw could easily be used to show some possible irony or hypocrisy in my arguments that I used against you. I’m pointing this out to help you because I’m not confident yet that you can even figure any of this out? But, all that is left is for you to show me that you aren’t a complete moronic fool who can point out an obvious flaw that could be used against a part of my argument if you ever do decide to answer my initial question? Good luck!

I feel the term "African American" is misleading. It's just "American", unless they indeed did migrate from Africa. Cause if I'm a white man born in sorth Africa, then migrate legally to the States, I'm an African American. I think the correct term would be "Black Person"

@Luca Rossi He is right, why is it okay to call someone white but not black. I'm from Brazil and there it is 100% okay and acceptable to call a white person white and black person black, there is nothing wrong with being black, so why should it be offensive? If I call you an idiot, okay offensive. If I call you person with 2 legs, why would that be offensive?
