@@optimisticallycynical.814 Who made the snake? Who made the woman? Who made the fruit? These things didn’t just happen by chance - the evolution theory is much more far fetched - for example ‘Lightening hit some bacteria in some water’ (where did the lightening come from? Where did the water come from? Where did the bacteria come from?) and then the bacteria became a worm which became a fish which grew legs and became a lizard, then more lightening and fires and always billions and billions of years so the lizard can become a squirrel then a monkey etc etc. The only ‘answer’ anyone has to all this far fetched storytelling is ‘billions and millions of years’ …. But then what? Still don’t have an answer to who made it all.

Thanks for this one Pastor Doug! For years, every time an atheist/agnostic asked me about aliens I would answer that we can already confirm that aliens exist and after they shock value that a Christian believes in aliens wore off, I explained that angels and demons are aliens by definition. I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this JRE podcast, glad to find others that think similarly about this sort of topic. I also thought the point about the driving narrative that atheist/agnostics have is a key part of understanding the way they think. I've never met an atheist/agnostic that follows the science perfectly, they ultimately create myths to believe in.

If evolution proposes that change is the only constant, the next logical question is, "to what end does that change occur"? If there is no end, then there is no hierarchy or standard to judge by. Thus, all forms of evolution are equally valid, and we have Gaia worship If it progresses towards a "higher end", the ultimate highest end is the immaterial become God, which is what Doug points out. It's also self defeating, as once you reach that highest end, evolution stops. Sounds very Hegelian doesn't it?

@@scottyyoch3537 that’s a great response and I understand where you’re coming from. I guess that what I’ve learned (at least concerning evolution) is that it’s only there to optimize survival. So I guess that an evolutionist would answer saying that whatever best helps you survive and thrive is what’s best. To concede a large part of your point, I can understand how for many that could lead to self-worship/ Gaia worship. Still, people find ways to do that even without believing in evolution, and I don’t think that the theory sets out to replace God, but that’s just my opinion. It's amazing how selective people are when it comes to the manner of sci-fi narrative that informs their cosmology. I've just finished reading Jack Mc Devitt's 'The Hercules Text' for about the fifth time, and in that, the 'message' provided by ET's proves to be a Pandora's box that brings the world to the brink of extinction, purely because of human nature. That manner of theme, which is often expressed in viable Sci-Fi, is so often skipped today. Even in the Abyss, we are actually confronted with the worst kind of alien - our innate capacity for ruining ourselves.

There is the one true religion of the Bibles Christianity and the one other religion that all the worlds other religions are under the authority of, scientism. The churches (Doug Wilson's,) christianity is not the Christianity of Jesus and the Bible, it is the fake christianity of the Godless world that is in reality scientism. Both DW and JR are both in the religion of scientism, just different denominations of scientism. JR is in the atheist denomination, and DW is in the fake christian denomination. The entire fake christian church that is in reality scientism is nothing more than satan casting out satan. Matthew 12:25 "And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26, And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?" This is why Jesus referred to the church as the abomination of desolation. The churches religion of scientism is divided against itself and on the last day, the churches (DW'S) fake christianity will not stand. Those few who actually are Christians have nothing to do with anything called the church. Jesus has sanctified (separated) them from it.

@@kevinjackson4933 ,.....The specifics are as I stated. One is either a real Christian, or they are a fake one, and are a part of the church and its religion of scientism that they all think is christianity. DW's religion is scientism, it is not the Christianity of Jesus and the Bible, it is the counterfeit (antichrist) christianity of the Godless world. One very easy to understand example is, the Bible clearly tells us that the earth God made is a flat stationary plane. The Godless world, (science/scientism) tells us the earth is a spinning ball flying through endless space that makes the entire Bible 100% null and void and nothing but the fables of men. Anyone that believes that the earth is a spinning ball is not a Christian, absolutely, positively not. It is impossible. A Christian is someone who believes what the Bible says, not what the Godless world says especially when it makes the Bible an impossibility, and the spinning baal (ball) does. The spinning ball earth comes from the false manmade religion of scientism, it is the opposite of what the Bible tells us. Again, no actual Christian believes that the earth is a spinning ball nor all the 100% fake manmade things that go along with it. But DW and the entire church is 100% on board with it, exposing that they are not Christians to any with eyes to see.

Can we get a video on demographics and voting trends? The biggest voting block for the issues we all care about is shrinking every year due to many reasons but the main one is legal immigration. Getting rid of the national origins quota was a major mistake and soon we will no longer be a Western country if this trend continues. I know conservative Christian folk of all walks of life, but when it comes to abortion, gun control, hate speech laws, and literally every other issue we care about we can see from clear cut data that non-Europeans support abortion, gun control, etc by 70-95% depending on the demographic and issue. We live in a Republic, and it's essentially a numbers game. These facts can't be ignored anymore. America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are extensions of the West (Europe). We shouldnt be reduced to hated minorities in our own nations.

Our first immigration act in 1791 clearly defined this, it reserved citizenship for morally upright Europeans, and every other act until 1965 made it so our country would always be a Western country. Different people build different civilizations and our founding fathers did not invision a multi cultural America. The plaque on the statue of liberty doesn't dictate our national destiny. Our country wasnt founded and established by immigrants. Colonists, explorers, frontiersman established our country. The melting pot bit that is always repeated is just more liberal nonsense too. At best we were a melting pot of Europe. I'm not arguing from authority, but I am a history teacher and I hear this nonsense from other teachers constantly. It's not rooted in history at all, and the founders are rolling in their grave that their descendents have become enemy #1. We are not a European only country, but it is European culture, customs, and institutions that birthed this country. And if we think we can replace the people and get the same country we are dreaming. I love everyone but voting patterns matter and I don't think letting in millions of immigrants which end up voting primarily democrat is a grand idea. “A narrative driven by the movies he’s watched…” There isn’t just one narrative in movies. Conservatively put, there’s an alien movie for hundreds of wildly different scenarios. Coming out of the gate dismissing Rogan’s movie reference as a “source” rather than a loose, breezy simile smacks of bias, not objectivity. It’s like me saying my favorite place on earth is Yosemite and then being told, “you only say that because the earth presents you with rocks and trees.” Sure…it also presents…everything else. The movie reference isn’t a source, it’s a quick and breezy means of saying, “this thought, not that other thought.” If I have a complicated idea, I could spend five minutes detailing it, or, acknowledging our shared culture, I can loosely summate that idea in three seconds by referencing a movie, and then spend the surplus time getting on with the conversation. If I’m giving directions to my house to somebody who lives in my town, I’m not going to exhaustively describe the turnpike. I’m going to breezily handwave the turnpike and hope the person I’m talking to isn’t so obsessed with my being already wrong that they quibble with me about turnpike descriptions. It gets even worse when he accuses Rogan of using an idea based on “our generation’s cosmology.” Again, because he wants Rogan to be wrong, he misses the purpose of the simile and argues about the turnpike. The idea in The Abyss that Rogan is referencing is, “They’re already among us.” This isn’t a new idea. This idea has been around for thousands of years. But because you want him to be wrong, you’ve deliberately ignored the purpose of the reference in exchange for the insignificant details of how that idea was communicated. In other words, you’re quibbling over the turnpike description because you don’t actually want directions.

But they're almost always based in the narrative of evolution / there is no God. That's the underlying assumption. I'm a huge X-Files fan from back in the day. The whole premise of the show was two FBI agents, a believer and a skeptic, investigating paranormal phenomena. Mulder was willing to believe any explanation for the case at hand - aliens, monsters, Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, even demons. But he'd outright dismiss anything having to do with God. That was a point of contention at times with Scully. She was raised Catholic. And, at least in earlier seasons, she still had somewhat of a belief in God. Some of the eps where she was struggling with her faith in that way and their conversations/disagreement made for thought provoking TV. It's one of the reasons I loved the show. I appreciated that they mostly treated the subject with respect. Though, wow, they were clueless at times and even got Bible passages wrong. I can somewhat excuse the earlier seasons since it was the late 90s and the internet was not quite what it is today. But can you ask your grandma for a Bible to make sure the passage/citation is correct before you have an actor/actress say the lines, film it and put it out there forever? Sheesh!

Too deep to go without prayer and supplication. Even then, some of it goes further. We learn not on our own understanding.

Hey unrelated question but I want to know when should a Christian get mental help?

By and large the same as anyone. When they feel they need it, or when loved ones express concern. Is this helpful? (This is a question that can easily be asked in bad faith, but I will presume you are asking in good faith ) What say you?

My mother genuinely believes in aliens because she follows people who claim to have met them like Dr Steven Greer and she watches weird videos with unnatural sounding voices who claim to be the aliens in question. None of what I heard from them sound biblical. My mother even has an unhealthy obsession with the topic, to the point where she uses an eisgesis approach with John 14:2 by interpreting "rooms" or "mansions" as "galaxies".

Pray for her. Some of this stuff is outright demonic.

@@Yesica1993 I pray for her salvation nearly every day. She also follows the New Age and she's a member of the Bahai Faith. I'm glad I left her beliefs and started following Christ in 2020.

@@Lukandon Amen! I am sure it can't be easy. Lord Jesus, break through the darkness and show her how evil these things are. Protect her. May she turn to You.
