JOE ROGAN ON EARLY TOM GREEN WEB TV SHOW - 2007

For those of you who don't remember webovision I am excited to show you this clip. In the early days of web streaming I built a TV studio in my living room in Los Angeles. We went live nightly for nearly a decade and shot thousands of shows. In my living room we invented the idea of taking Skype video calls from viewers, something that is so normal now that it is hard to remember a time it didn't exist. Around this time in 2007 I invited one of my favorite comedians Joe Rogan up to the house where we had a fascinating conversation about the internet and the future of television. Much of what we discussed has come true and Joe has gone on to revolutionize the broadcast business with the most successful podcast in history. Stay tuned for more classic webovision clips coming soon. And new shows coming soon! Subscribe to this channel and The Tom Green Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts.

@@swasho2939 HD Quality streaming wasn't really a thing back in 2007. This looks more 480p which is making it look dated, combined with the retroish set up they had going on. Tom started this show around 2006 and it was cutting edge at the time. If i remember correctly he streamed this on his own website. These were raw and unfiltered shows where absolutely anything could happen, its a shame Tom hasn't just uploaded them all to youtube because they were 10x more entertaining than any talk show on tv due to the fact there were no restrictions on guests. The only reason it never took off gaining mass popularity was because Tom was way ahead of his time with this, streaming an entire show online had not really been done before, internet speeds were still slow in some areas and we weren't as connected as we are today with phones with actual high quality displays and wifi.

Considering he gets more views than any TV show on Earth I still don't think he's truly learned how to maximize the financial end. When you get more views than game of thrones and your show costs almost nothing to produce you should probably be making millions per show. But I don't think he cares. He makes his money doing stand up and UFC work. I think he knows the more money he gets from his podcast the less freedom he will have.
