I never understood why people compare Michael and Elvis. Black people, Spanish People, Indian People, Oriental people, African tribal people all know and love and imitate MJ. White people love Elvis.

It's white Americans and Hollywood that are pushing and promoting Elvis so much. Outside of the US, the UK and maybe Australia, I don't think Elvis was that huge. But go anywhere in the world and mention Michael and people gasp.

I mean I guess if you’re insane that could be something you’d think. No one suppressed Elvis. People say Elvis copied stuff when literally all of Jackson was a copy of Fred Astaire and even his biggest dance move wasn’t his. Writing was the only original thing he did and even one of his biggest hits human nature he didn’t write. Jackson was riddled with surgery and built like a twig, Elvis was like angelically beautiful and didn’t need surgery to achieve that. Elvis had more stage presence with the flu than Jackson on his best day.

Yeah you not liking it doesn’t mean it’s not true. Elvis was way beyond Jackson, Jackson took most of his look and how he moved from from Fred Astaire and even his biggest dance move wasn’t made by him and even one of his biggest hits human nature he didn’t write. Elvis also looked extremely beautiful without needing all the surgery Jackson got until he barely had a face. Also Elvis established what even being a pop star was it didn’t even exist before him. There’s Elvis and then there’s Jackson it’s the truth and you need to just accept that.
@ComeAlongKay
@ComeAlongKay 8 ай бұрын
I think you’ve been more exposed to Jackson because he came later and had the use of the internet and many other things to publicizes himself. Jackson didn’t come close to Elvis’s level of charisma and power in performing. Jackson was good certainly extremely good but Elvis was just a force of nature in terms of stage presence voice all of it.

@ComeAlongKay Dude what are you talking about? Elvis only performed in USA, MJ performed all over the planet, universally known as the most famous being of all time. And, Elvis stole many songs from different rock and roll artists. I admire Elvis but MJ actually written his own songs, to say Elvis is anything close to MJ is utter nonsense. America may agree with you but world would highly disagree with you, highly.

@ComeAlongKay
@ComeAlongKay 8 ай бұрын
Yeah that isn’t a fair comparison like at all. Elvis never left America he barely had the tv to use when he started. Jackson didn’t get more famous due to anything besides he had more publicity. I mean the Kardashians are very famous doesn’t mean they’re better than other celebrities. Elvis was as massive as he was without even leaving America and he’s still an icon, Jackson had longer to become famous has the internet and television at a wider level and he traveled everywhere and still Elvis even without doing all of that was so big that people are comparing and trying to figure out who was bigger. If Elvis had had the same level of publicity and technology like the internet and he’d traveled so much to every continent basically and started at like eight he’d have been orders of magnitude more famous than Jackson. He had a fraction of the technology to spread his name and traveled to a fraction of the places to perform and people are still comparing the two. In comparison to the amount of places visited and the tech used to spread stuff Elvis was more famous.

Put MJ..Elvis or Beyonce autograph on a 50 cent dollar store pencil and see which one sells the fastest and for the most. I bet MJ pencil makes 100s of millions within mins. U see ppl complaining about paying $500+ dollars to see Beyonce in concert and she works HARD but if Michael charged that much ppl would take their gold teeth out for a ticket. @ComeAlongKay fascinating comment. Elvis never jumped out 10 feet in the air from beneath the stage and just stand still for 5 minutes in front of 70,000 frantically excited people for a whole year in 5 different countries. That's the first 5 minutes of his show every night. Stage presence doesn't get any more intense than that. Michael has the greatest stage presence of all time. Elvis had charm for days that allowed him to be relatable on stage. That is a great gift and I get good vibes seeing his shows and his charm. MJ gave me goosebumps. He changed the molecules in the room when he was on the stage.

Michael Jackson had two phases of his adult career. Badass synth-rock pop god who could do no wrong, and grown ass 30 something warbling creepy songs about his 'Childhood' and saving the world. People front on how die hard they were, but back in the day people were 'wtf' when it came to a lot of themes in his mid to later work. People remember (and still bump) OTW and Thriller, with Bad beginning the decline and Dangerous really highlighting that he was starting to repeat himself. Prince meanwhile never let himself get stagnant, he just never had hits as big as Michael did in his early 20's.
