That occurs when you kill of all the local wildlife, en masse. Take Sweden for example, there used to be so much wildlife here, in the past, but more than 90% of it is dead now. We made the Scandinavian wolf tribe go extinct so we had to import wolves from Europe, and let's not mention how few elks and deer there are. In the past, you could've lived out in the woods and shoot a deer each month and you wouldn't affect the ecosystem at all, nowadays, there's so few deers that if you see one in the forest and you live in the forest, for over 20 years you'd be lucky to see one twice.

@@sinclairoli7728 humans are extraordinary runners over long distances....not fast but we recover very quickly and sweat freely. Other animals tire. Not really? I mean they were but they didn’t take on that bear. What gave you guys the impression that humans hunted it? Was it the cadaver in the museum? You guys know that it wasn’t hunted right? Joe literally said that the bear was such a menace that it halted humans populating other areas of the world? I mean no offense but that guest doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Sounded more like a joke not an actual fact. It would have taken more than a day and probably 7+ people to take such a thing down, and it probably was out of exhaustion because stone and wooden spikes were not gonna penetrate that thick fur and layer of fat. I’m not even sure a 9mm pistol now a days might fully penetrate. Now blubber in normal bears can be up to 4 inches, imagine a bear double the size. So you see fellas thats a ridiculous notion to think that a group of malnourished freezing cavemen could take on such a beast. I believe y’all are playing too much Far Cry Primal.

The bow and spear are the very best weapons of old times . The reason why spears are overlooked is probably because it's that good, it's too good in a fight , there's not much what if , just keep distance or block and poke your enemy to death . With a sword , it's much more on even footing , you don't really know who could win which is exciting.

Little bear wisdom. You don't play dead with a Grizzly/Brown bear attack, you just make yourself as small and unintimidating as you can. Fighting back usually means you're worth the calories. Where Kodiak and Polar bears coexist, Polar bears run for their lives. This is real. Polar bears have comparatively short claws. Kodiaks have huge claws, will kill Polar bears on sight and are just a bit smaller than Polars.
