What I'd like to know is how do people define their identity... For example, if someone is born male but transitions to female because they feel "like a woman", how do they define "like a woman" without using gender stereotypes? Do they rely on social stereotypes to define their gender? Most modern stereotypes of women are born from an "oppressive patriarchal stereotype" of what a woman should be and wear... So if someone born male identifies as female, are they using the oppressive patriarchal stereotype to define their identity? I have asked many male-female trans people if the believe in gender stereotypes, that girls wear pink and play with dolls, women wear dresses and makeup, to which they reply "no, that's sexist". So what basis do they use to define "like a woman"? What is their absolute definition of what it means to feel like a male or female and what specific gender roles do they assign in order to form a definition? One needs to define something in order to form an identity in it.... I'm a Christian. I believe in a moral absolute. The Bible outlines what the definition and gender roles are for men and women specifically. Most transgender people I speak to don't believe in the Bible. Without an absolute definition, the transgender ideologues have no basis for their identity. That being said, I identify in Christ, so if a transgender person asked me to use their preferred pronoun out of respect for their identity, I would, and in reciprocity I would ask that they don't take my God's name in my presence out of respect for my identity.
