Joe dismissed a good point about a source of motivation for Edgley. When he brought up the struggles of his ancestors, and how he is essentially just carrying on what they had done, Joe essentially said "nah I don't think they swam as far as you did". Missing his point entirely.

Bobola early on... Joe was thinking humans would have the attitude modern humans have...lazy and comfortable and doing as little effort for maximum reward...but who can tell for sure ...it’s not like humans ate as much sugar and crappy foods as they do nowadays..after all look how competitive humans can be....with better diet and more activity and stronger bodies....who is to say they didn’t do Guinness World record type things thousands of years ago....after all the Olympic Games are ages old.

@@qthirteen13 The problem is that weightlifting endeavours are fairly closed shop events that lack the limitless aspect of human endeavour. Cardio events seems to be endlessly upgradable. The greastest feats achieved by man are on bicycle. Men like Mark Cavendish and Mark Beaumont are UK born men who would blow the mind of most Americans. Some people actually self-undergo slavery to crystallise a perfect ability at a thing, and those two are examples.
