@@comphysync9084 I like relleno for Nuxco. Its different from chili relleno. It's almost like pot roast except its from pork. Theres still the potato and carrot but there's also peas. You can eat it with rice or bolio bread or both. Then there's tacos and enchiladas. Beef milanesa with rice and guacamole is always awesome too 😋

When the world knows the homely Mexican foods because in Mexico there are 32 states and each one has its own foods, they are a lot, as a Mexican you die and you haven't even tried half of them. When the world tries homemade Mexican meals, there is no turning back. Mexico is not just tacos, birria, burritos, carnitas, etc. etc. etc. The foods that are served on Mexican tables for lunch in homes are delicious. If someone thinks of making them in the US or any country it would be an immediate success.

Ok, it IS good, but if you’ve traveled in Mexico, specially with family, and grew up with homemade food, you know the L.A. food can’t really compare. I would say Mexican food is so unique and delicious because Mexico is a cross road between Asia and Europe. First, the indigenous cuisines of Mexico brought corn, chocolate, avocado, and Chile to the rest of the world. Second, Mexico was the middleman in the Spanish trade between Asia and Europe. Spanish traders would import spices, fruits, and citrus (ex tamarind, mangoes, limes, salted plum) through Mexico on the way back to Europe, creating demand and eventually domestic cultivation of these commodities in Mexico itself. Third, Mexico carries influences from Spain and Europe from its colonial period. Spanish Marzapan and expertise with pork and cheese making, French bread making, Belgian brewers, and even Lebanese shawarma makers have all left their mark on Mexican cuisine.

Tomato sauce comes from Mexico becasue Mexico has been making tomato sauce before Italy even knew what a tomato was. There are some Mexican dishes that only require tomato sauce. Salsa can be a tomato sauce as well it doesn't just have to be made of chile peppers. "Salsa de Tomate" translates to tomato sauce. We do have Mexican pasta soup and it requires tomato sauce. Pasta sauce is just tomato sauce with extra seasonings and some veggies but its the tomato sauce that is the main component and most important in Italian dishes. Mexico even has green tomatoes that we make into green tomato salsa in many Mexican dishes.

There are soo many great dishes from mexico that are usually overshadowed by things like Taco, Burritos, etc. Now I see Birria become so popular, but that was a dish that I grew up with as a child. Traditionally it was served as a special occasion food and sometimes it would be a stew or served with beans and rice. Now I would love to see more people enjoy foods like Pork Salsa Verde, chiles rellenos, nopales, different styles of mole, pozole, etc. etc. so many great foods that haven’t caught on yet.

Food scientist here. Tacos are a favorite for most because of the fact it’s one of the few easily made foods that create umami. Because of the different fillings that are common with tacos combined with the seasonings and fats, tacos create a very savory flavor that is unique compared to most foods. On top of that the aromatics play a big factor as well.

Mexican food has been Americanized because its ALWAYS been here in this land. Chinese food came over the Pacific ocean with immigrants. Italian food came over the Atlantic via immigrants as well but Mexican food has ALWAYS been here and so you have authentic but also Tex-Mex, street style and I get cravings for it all. I'm a Mexican married to a Finnish/Swedish/Norwegian woman, kids inherent of both our origins. She actually has become a good cook of Mexican food. We probably eat Mexican food twice a week.

i live in northern mexico and even though we do have burritos, nachos, flour tortillas, the point is that it doesnt really represent the mexican cuisine because here we have, mole, pozole, barbacoa, cochinita pibil, enchiladas, and hundreds of different dishes, so the point is not that it is not mexican food, but that it is a very small part of the real gastronomy and it is not a real representative of the mexican cuisine, so I would consider some dishes more mexican-american than mexican sush as nachos for example, since here is more common to find them in the form and name of "totopo" or "totoposte", and also it is very common for americans to have a misconception of what a taco actually is, because not every dish that involve a tortilla is called taco, there are enmoladas, flautas, enchiladas, even tostitaco, and I dont expect every person in the world non mexican to know this, but as a mexican to me is safe to say that american mexican food is usually not an accurate representation of traditional mexican cuisine.

Mexican food is good bc of the blend of ingredients from native americans and Europeans. The Spanish taught the natives the importance of family and religion which is historically strong in the Mediterranean nations of Spain and Italy, also Italy would not have tomatoes had the Spanish not brought them back to Europe from the Americas. So the voyage of Christopher Columbus was not all bad.

La razón es la enorme tradición de mas de 2000 años de tradición culinaria (mayas, mexicas, olmecas, mixtecos, zapotecos, teotihuacanos, etc ) y la inmensa cantidad de ingredientes presentes desde esos tiempos en esta región del mundo (mesoamérica) como el jitomate (llamado tomate en EEUU, pero aqui el tomate es un fruto de forma parecida pero de color verde y con otro sabor) el maíz, el chocolate, el chile, el aguacate, el amaranto, la vainilla, el frijol, la calabaza, el nopal, etc. Luego con la invasión europea en el siglo XVI se añadieron otros ingredientes, principalmente de Asia que dieron por resultado la comida mexicana. Otro punto es que no se busca hacerla rápido, no es "fast food", y aunque no siempre, muchas veces una buena comida generalmente tomara tiempo. Y por ultimo la gran diversidad de climas y por ello de sabores que proveen los inngredientes de la comida mexicana. La familia unida y fuerte no es la razón, es, al igual que la comida, el resultado de esos mas de dos mil años de cultura.
