Everyone: we hate big basic metas Joe: basic only format is the best way to play pokemon
@heliolux69043 жыл бұрын
True but also that format is still better because those cards are way more interesting. The problem isn't just the fact that they are basics, its the general design philosophy of pokemon now where they design cards that lead to extremely straightforward decks... Cards were wackier and more interesting back then

what does ross cawthon have to use with hippo lv x?

Hippo is just too fun I had to

@@OmniPoke hippo has ironically been placing well in the 2010 discord tournaments i’ve been playing in. it unfortunately has lost to gardevoir twice in a row in grand finals, which had been quite disheartening 😭 nonetheless a BLAST to watch!

Im in the process of creating a cube for fast draft. Im considering thoses rules cause it fixes everything i hate about the game. Like Weakness Res, 2 prizers and the bunch of dead cards for evo lines. But i havent seen anything like that played. After 2 years would still recommend those rules ?

The problem: complete an evolution line in draft is so satisfying.

Hi Joe, is there an updated spreadsheet for this idea? Thanks

can we get some cube content with this cube?
@Gustavate3 жыл бұрын
I tried this out with some homies and I love the draft simulator, but when we were done with drafing i struggled to play the deck on TCG ONE. Do you have a tutorial for the drafting document? And do you have multiple drafts made online, so I have some to play when me and my friend figure out how to play it 😊?

Hi could you update the link to your spreadsheet if at all possible? Thanks!

Getting this cube prepped for irl. How many basic energies do you prepare for this cube? 15 of each enough?
@OmniPoke3 жыл бұрын
much more, i'd say like 30 of each to be safe, many players can be multi-type and i've played as high as 20 energy in a deck
@greenmetalbox1719 Жыл бұрын
@@OmniPoke Im curious, you say the same amount of energies (30 per) for your 6-9 player IRL cube. Is that because there's a lot less multi-typing in that one?
@OmniPoke Жыл бұрын
@@greenmetalbox1719 with my large 9 players cube, deck composition usually has around 8-12 energy in decks because there are a lot of efficient and cheap attackers, whereas in the all basics, i've seen 18 energy lists! with usually much higher attack costs on average

Three mechanics that are terrible in the ptcg: coin flips, 2x weakness and prize cards.
@OmniPoke3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, coin flips can be fine if the upside/downside isn’t an all or nothing kinda approach and more sort of “cherry on top” and of course balancing the t1 flip is always a challenge
@heliolux69043 жыл бұрын
I think prize cards would be fine if you were allowed to look at them face down. Finding a new plan of action when things are prized can distinguish the best players. Just t1 search deck just stalling the game to play I spy is kind of dumb
@KeyRx.3 жыл бұрын
surprised that the 2x weakness isn’t talked about more. it’s absolutely ridiculous in a competitive TCG. Change it to you take +30 damage from ur weakness or something.
@KeyRx.3 жыл бұрын
being able to look at ur prize cards (you don’t necessarily have to show ur opponent them) would add a lot more decision making to the game and therefore a lot more skill than just picking a random one.
