,when john is asked the most important question he simply says its all about joe,,,,wow....honest and brilliant

This sounds like this was recorded right before Joe worked his deal with Peavey and made the JSX. Not sure which album this is referring to that they are recording...maybe "Strange Beautiful Music" or "Is there love in space".

Satch mentions the Peavey amp model they created - I get the impression that the JSX amp didn’t entirely meet Joe’s needs? Does anyone know?

I've started looking for "pedal version" clones of these limiters, at least to get close, and I've found that the LA2A is an optical compressor/limiter the equivalent (hopefully close enough) version (besides building the Bajaman version) would be something like the Diamond Comp or Mooer Yellow Comp or Caline Pressure Tank. On the 1176 side, there's the Cali76 on the expensive side, and the MXR M76 on the cheaper side. What results they would yield, I don't know, but in case it's useful, there's what I've got so far. A few weeks ago this was greek to me, but I started to wonder if I didn't need to dig deeper into it to try and get "the sound", lol.

Is this during his recording for the "Unstoppable Momentum" album? Which is his best album in a long time btw...

he uses such standard stuff and gets such a great sound, it drives me mad... if I use what he uses I just sound like crap. It means he's got it all in the hands, while I... well don't. :(
