Ben, you're right that Bernie would be way behind if they were all primaries but if they were all OPEN primaries, that would be a different story.
@kjhuang8 жыл бұрын
1. Boy did Ben miss the point. The point is that the superdelegates ARE the "rigged" part!!! So saying that's it's inaccurate to report the 11-7 count as if that were the real count... yes, that's the point they're making!! 2. Wyoming was not a primary as Ben said; it was a caucus. 3. If you're gonna argue that Bernie only does well because of caucuses, then on the flip side I can say that Hillary is only doing as well as she is because she got a decent start with the Iowa CAUCUS (Bernie may well have won the popular vote there but we'll never know) and then she got a boost with the Nevada CAUCUS. Whereas Bernie's crushing wins in the last several caucuses appear to be giving him no momentum going into New York. So it cuts both ways.
@TheUltimateRage8 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Huang Add on top of that the fact that SOOOOOO many people's registration status have been magically switched, preventing them from even being able to vote in closed primaries, super early voter registration deadlines like in NY (deadline was in OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR!!!), the media giving Bernie such little coverage compared to all the other candidates, Bill Clinton's electioneering, oh, and that pesky little incident of Voter *FRAUD* that happened in AZ. This whole entire election has been rigged from the start!

The problem with the super delegates is that from what I understand Hillary garnered their votes long before the election, and it seems undemocratic to me. I have known about super delegates for a long time. I will still vote I am not ever going to stop voting, but I can understand why people feel their vote does not matter. Maybe super delegates have historically not effected elections, but they are now probably the reason Trump got elected.

The superdelegate system is completely undemocratic. Ben's argument that Bernie Sanders entered the system knowing that superdelegates exist doesn't mitigate the problem at all - what other system could he have entered? Also, just because Scarborough is wrong on many issues and hypocritical, that doesn't mean he's not correct here. It's ironic, because Ben is usually the one to point out that most human beings are hypocrites. Ana and John should be more strident in calling out Ben's BS on this issue. Just because he's older than you, it doesn't mean you have to be reserved when he rants.
@gregbertana72938 жыл бұрын
+Hannah G-K he saying if Bernie did not like the Dems rules he should of never ran on a democratic platform is all Ben is saying. You Bernie supporters act like it is so unfair , Cause of the super delegates. Well the super delegates do not mean anything unless It was closer delegate race. As far as Hillary having more votes it is cause she has won more primary and Bernie is only really winning caucus. If he was winning primary he would be tied with Hillary by now. All primary should be close and all states should do primary just to make it more simple and fair.
@HannahGK8 жыл бұрын
dragon heart I heard what Ben said and my point stands. When the platform itself is broken, you should address how it is broken. You don't say: "well, you could have stood on another platform" when we all know there isn't really another platform to stand on! If you're not Republican or Democrat, it's obvious you don't have a hope in the Presidential election. If superdelegates do not matter, why do they even exist? Superdelegates are undemocratic because they give elites more of a say than ordinary people. And each time superdelegates are declared, they lead potential voters to think the lead is insurmountable, which makes them think their votes are pointless, which could suppress the vote. P.S. It's funny being called a Bernie supporter after all these months I've been called a Hillary supporter.

quite simple...Superdelegates are politicians and lobbyists who pledge support to a candidate more aligned with their own ideologies...in the case of Clinton, MONEY...it's all about the Special Interest groups and the big bucks...thus Bernie's argument that Superdelegates pledged support to Clinton LONGGGG before the primaries even began....In short, Bernie was screwed before the primaries even began!!!...he should run as a third party candidate and win!!

Ben is totally wrong here. The point isn't that the math is flawed, which he seems to be suggesting that they are implying by not including the super-delegates footnote, the point is that the super-delegate system itself is ridiculous and, of course, the people in Wyoming should feel slighted that 56% support Bernie Sanders, yet, 61% of the delegates went to Clinton. I agree, as a voter in Wyoming I would absolutely feel that it doesn't matter who I vote for. Of course, super-delegates can switch, but even so, it makes the whole thing feel less democratic. And the argument of "those are the rules", or "he knew the rules when he joined the race" is an absolutely asinine argument. Why don't you tell that to Cenk who is protesting campaign finance? I mean, those are the rules today, everybody knows those are the rules, what is Cenk complaining about?

John: "I have to research it!" Ben: "Not that well apparently.." Props to John for not taking the bait and move it back to their argument while Anna was making her own point about something else. Ben got crushed by John since he didn't even know what John was taking issue with, and then he tried to play it off by bringing up some stats that John didn't know off the top of his head which while related to the issue, it wasn't a rebuttal of Johns opinion about the system, so i guess that would maybe be a straw man..? Ben Ben Ben.. just when i was starting to like you more after initially disliking his personality and political stance.. but don't worry. You're not as bad as the other dude still.. Ben is so full of it, all election cycle he's been team Hillary. I may not be on the same political team as Joe but that show has been one of he few that gave Bernie a fair chance on all of network TV.

John has the patience of a saint. I love Ben, I love his passion. And he can, at many times, be the voice of reason to a panel that is usually extremely liberal. However, in this segment, he was quite obnoxious. I think he and John were talking past each other because the point Ben was arguing was not the same point that John was arguing, but Ben kept interrupting him just to yell like an angry old man. Chill out dude. Part of journalistic integrity is keeping your cool and talking like adults. Not screaming over each other like Faux News.

I just made my 3rd donation to Bernie's campaign! The World needs Bernie's sensible leadership. Please consider making a small contribution to his campaign if you are a Bernie fan. He doesn't accept corporate donations!

Ben was great in the first half when they were talking about Morning Joe, but very frustratingly completely missed the point that John was trying to make about Hillary's disingenuity when saying that she has more votes. What's so hard to understand about "she's intentionally misrepresenting the truth by saying this"? Yes, she would be ahead in the numbers, but not by the 2.4 million votes that she's claiming she is. That's the issue that John had.

A lot of folks hating on Ben, even if I don't always agree with him, I am glad he brings up counter points and a different perspective to the table, that creates real dialogue.

I'm not sure how yelling helps Ben make his points. Of Course she beats Bernie Sanders NOW by any measures Ben. But the election is only halfway through so if they are being unfair to Bernie it DOES make a difference.

+Nicholas Vanpraag I don't like watching an argument either, and it was Ben who was being the asshole. Not because he doesn't agree, but just the way he shouts down those who have differing opinions and acts all high and mighty.

Derek Cormier I agree that a counter-balance is necessary, I just don't enjoy the hostility or vitriol. I am here to be educated primarily, and yelling has always just turned off my capacity to learn.

Morning Joe has been extremely fair to Bernie this whole cycle. I know TYT has a huge chip on their shoulder about Morning Joe, but they have consistently been on the side of Bernie for the whole cycle and have even called out those who think he would be a weaker general candidate. I call it as i see it and they are telling the truth of the matter. They even called out the GOP as well in the same segment for their convention nonsense
