I remember when he announced he’s going to be out on this. And I remember thinking “oh he’s going to dance!? Won’t he be embarrassed or nervous?” But when I watched his first dance I was so amazed of his courage and skills. And he just kept going. He has no idea that a woman in her 30’s in Southern California was rooting for him and sobbing at his accomplishments. Bahahah. I have been inspired by this person I’ve never met. Congrats on your accomplishments. You’ve really moved me and I’m sure of many others. Not just from your dancing but your genuineness as well. Wow!

Dance: I was SO hoping that they would pick this dance! This was my favorite dance of his all season. You can really see the improvement... he seems less frantic and way more precise. And a little stronger... you can tell with the lifts. Perfect embodiment of his journey. Not perfect technique, but he shined in this, certainly. 9.5! Tribute: Ah, Joe and Dianne. You were amazing this season. Joe was never my favorite, but he always brought it every week and tried his hardest, no matter the obstacles. He had some bad dances, he had some amazing dances, but the most important thing is that he is genuine, and gave it his all. Mad respect for Joe. He just shined with Dianne. Definitely defined this season. Admittedly, I’m going to miss them.

on the first dance, i said i was beyond excited to see joe’s improvement as he goes on. and this, THIS dance, is truly the embodiment of that. he’s come so far, both technically and in confidence, and i couldn’t be happier or prouder of him. he didn’t walk away with the glitterball, but it seems he’s walked away with a best friend forever, more confidence, and some new moves to use at parties. and to me, that’s truly what makes him my winner this year :)

I think he was the smartest and the one who calculated his favourite dance choice the least. While everyone chose a dance that was scored a 39 and was quite recent, Joe picked a dance that had room for improvement (was scored 31) and from week 2. A final dance to go back to where his journey began and to show how much he's improved since then. Thatcher joe has done everyone proud, I wish he'd have won bc he did deserve it and was absolutely brilliant this series.

In a year of A-MA-ZING Charlestons (all 3 of the female finalists had done awesome ones) this one feels flat for me- even if he does show an incredible improvement here.
