I think pridecback in the day was the most savage hard core fight scene, ufc is more technical and sport like. Fedora to those who know was a beast, he didn’t show himself in the mainstream way, but main stream is not necessarily most hardcore. Like fedor to me is the equivalent of when good fought those tournaments, it’s beneath him, he doesn’t need tournaments he’s fighting aliens instead

This is why I lost interest in MMA. Up to and during Fedor's reign there were truly dominant fighters. Now everybody has somebody's number. I know parity is a mark of how good the sport is but I want a Tyson or a Fedor. Or a Gracie. Or a Rampage. Or a Carano. It's just more fun.

Fedor also said his brother had more talent and potential in fighting. Such a shame he couldnt get his life straight, he could have potentially been a bigger and better Fedor.

Fedor took on anyone, any weight, any time. And he won by submission or knock out, rarely went the distance. Why? Cuz he showed up to fight unlike many others at the top. His arsenal was absolutely frightening. Jon Jones? Please. Pussy Jones has had the oppty to step up and fight someone his own size. He hasn't cuz he won't win, and he knows it. Which "era" doesn't matter. Fedor is the GOAT and the best heavyweight ever. I know cuz I've been watching this sport since UFC 3. Fedor at the top., work your way down from there.

Who even comes close to Fedor? My friend was talking about Fedor way back the first fight I watched Coleman had him on his back the father of ground and pound 30 seconds later Coleman was tapping. I remember when people were talking about Lidell and Fedor they obviously never scene Fedor fight. Also I don’t think anyone could of hit Chuck as hard he was basically punch drunk after that. I loved watching Chuck fight. They say once you get knocked out it gets easier and easier to to put u to sleep.

I'm late to the party, but the only reason this conversation even exists is because Dana (through Rogan, directly and indirectly) has spent millions propagandizing the notion that Fedor wasn't "UFC material", though he not only murdered countless UFC champions, he was also the only non-roided up heavyweight of his generation, who routinely put down guys with 4/5 inches and 40/50 pounds on him. Before Fedor, heavyweight MMA was a joke. Once a guy like Ngannou, Miocic, Overeem, DC, etc...wins 20+ fights in a row, while dominating historically dominant fighters like Filipovic, Randleman, Nogueira, etc... Then there will be a debate to be had. Until then All Heil The Last Emperor.

Look, if you're going to try to be objective, you have to provide context, and understand the human element in these things. Weredum was a turning point, because Fedor lost his undefeated, winning streak, so he wasn't as peak motivated, as he had been before, happens to people in all competitions. When that happens, e.g. Roy Jones when he got disqualified, after seeming unbeatable, he's on record as saying it majorly demotivated him, and he literally had to find something that was lefta to drive him to get up and Train like he used to, and this was going up to heavyweight and then back down and win light heavyweight again. Roy said he never would have even thought of this, if he had continued his winning streak Oh, and anyone objective watching that fight, Can see that Fedor only lost because Werdum seemed to be stunned and ready to be finished off.On most days, he probably would have been more careful, at that moment in the fight, knowing Werdums skill set and it probably would have gone a completely different way as Fedor was clearly in the ascendancy and Werdum was scrambling for his life, when he got the triangle hold locked in, from Fedors recklessness. If that was a fight without rules, then Fedor would simply have stamped Werdum out

Francis easily the best heavyweight ever in that sport he brings stability with his skills and power, the only problem with the others is you tap them on the chin and they fall and Francis doesn't, he could last some rounds vs Tyson Fury if they have a boxing contest, should have a good reff ready though to stop the bout if he starts taking to many punches from the almost 7ft champion.

One thing I really appreciated about Fedor was that he didn’t try to play it safe. Like taking that fight against that behemoth Japanese man that just walked up and stepped over the ropes. He took risks. Wasn’t looking to win by decision. Wasn’t looking to avoid a challenge.

Fedor lost mostly due to phychological reasons in his personal life. When he was ok mentally and mogo fully intact, he couldn't be beat by anyone. Coming from both a Lesnar and Fedor fan, majority of the time, Fedor would have beaten anyone put in front of him.

Fedor was fighting people roided to the gills for years. He was small compared to most of his opponents and many of his opponents were legit. He is the GOAT When UFC bought out his contract he immediately lost 3 in a row. UFC offered him 50 million to fight and Fedor told Dana he was a horrible person and refused it at all cost. Fedor signed on with strike force and was doing fine until UFC bought out his contract and he started to decline. He was the most animalistic fighter who was raw

as far as heavyweights... Fedor is the goat by a lightyears. noone is even close. if you rank him in the p4p.... jones, silva are very very close.. but id still say fedor is number 1. if you disagree.. its because youre only watching mma for less then 10/15 years.... go watch all his fights chronologically... undefeated for ten years. destroyed more heavyweight champions including ufc champions then anyone in history. and gave up 30 pounds on average to his opponents. he was the most frenetic violent skilled and aggressive fighter to ever grace the sport. undefeated for 10 years. go watch him now!
@donquixotedoflamingo55105 жыл бұрын
"if you disagree.. its because youre only watching mma for less then 10/15 years" The only people who use phrases like that are insecure fangirls, have a bit of dignity. If you're talking about who's heavyweight GOAT based on accomplishments, then yes Fedor was the GOAT. But, if you're saying that he's the GOAT because prime Fedor can beat any Heavyweight at any era, then No. Fedor's best competition (excluding Cro Cop) was still a shitty competition.

I remember during the runup to the fedor-werdum bout that a lot of people weren't giving werdum the credit he rightfully deserved. The guy was already a world class bjj practitioner (just go look at his medal list) and was transitioning well into the MMA game. And, while this isn't meant to be a slight towards werdum but fedor's best years were behind him (though he was still a monster). I believe fedor essentially admitted during an interview that even he underestimated how dangerous werdum was off his back and werdum capitalized on fedor not seeing the trap he was falling into. I would love to see what a prime fedor would do in the modern mma scene. When I think about it, part of me is curious if he would have ended up in a lighter weight class. I could definitely see him holding the HW and LHW belt at the same time.
@joetabner49372 жыл бұрын
You seen the video of fedor and werdum in the elevator just b4 there fight? If not youtube it bro
@Rowlph88882 жыл бұрын
Yes, he was a BJJ expert, but even so, anyone whose objective, can see that if a fedor had been"slightly" more patient, Werdum was done, within a few minutes, as he was stunned.I bet he couldn't believe his luck, when Fedor bulled on into his guard. If that was a street fight, Fedor would simply have stamped him out

A focus so real it was terrifying. The man would walk into the fight with no expression and when he fought Mirko cro cop he was smiling as he walked to the ring. Please reconsider your list.
