ok, so I've noticed in a lot of recent interviews he talks kind of strange. So I figured it was from all the years of alcohol/drug abuse. So I figured I check out some older footage to see how he sounded back in the day, but its just the same? Does anyone know if he has some sort of medical condition?

I think it's more of a lisp. It seems like it comes out more when he's fucked up and now that he has gotten older. I think I remember watching a Eagles reunion interview right after he got sober where it was barely noticeable (you had to be listening for it)

I think for the most part, he's always sounded this way. It just progressed as he got more into substance abuse. It was pretty tame and clear when he was in the James Gang but I think after he lost Emma, his first daughter to a car accident in 1974 kind of started to snowball after that point. He's always had a tremendous amount of character to him and he's one of the lucky few that cleaned up and is doing absolutely fantastic these days.
