From what we now know, Joe Walsh convinced/gave/sold Jimmy Page his iconic Les Paul, and now you're telling me he gave Pete Townshend his AMP? So, the BRITISH Invasion was really a one man gang from OHIO!!! Thank You Joe.

Love the Bandmasters! Good to see three 10s in there for those of us who love 10s. Will never have $3000 to purchase one. Guess this one’s for doctors and lawyers guitar enthusiasts. 🙁

I think you meant to say that the speakers are wired in parallel, right? Three 8 ohm speakers would be 24 ohms total.

Well What A great Sounding Amp Thanks for posting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big technical gaff at about 3:00. Three 8 ohm speakers in series form a 24 ohm impedance. Three 8 ohms speakers in parallel from a 2.67 ohm impedance. (One way to get a 3.2 ohm impedance is to put a 16 ohms speaker in parallel with a 4 ohms speaker) Not Don's fault, but whoever wrote the copy should have known better (or known to check).

Be nice if they got it right. Nothing like bad information. Great amp. I'm no expert, but is this correct run two of the 8 ohm speakers in series, then run a 4 ohm in parallel to them ? So that amp should have (2) 8 ohm speakers and (1) 4 ohm speaker????? Thanks

Whoops, my mistake. In my haste, I misspoke and unfortunately no one caught it… 'til now. Thank you for the clarification! I should have said "parallel" instead of "series." As for the math portion, I had a conversation with Dr Z. himself to get a complete and accurate answer. Here's a synopsis of that conversation: Speaker impedance is not a fixed number, it's more nuanced. Speakers are rated in AC impedance and in use, the resistance varies with frequency. DC resistance, as measured by an ohmmeter, is a fixed value. The DC resistance of the speakers in the Z-Master is 8 ohms per speaker. Using Ohm's law, the DC resistance of three 8-ohm speakers wired in parallel is 2.6666… rounded-up to 2.67. However, this fixed number is not indicative of practical use, since the AC impedance of a speaker changes depending upon the frequencies it is reproducing at any given time. Kirchhoff's laws would be more appropriate for solving this problem. So, taking into account the relative frequency range of the electric guitar in application and calculating impedance based on three speakers in-use, the actual speaker parallel load is roughly 3.2 ohms, which represents the average AC load that the speakers reflect on the output transformer. Using a 4-ohm output transformer creates the slight mismatch that is part of the Z-Master sound. Thanks, DC

@@sweetwaterMaking this technical distinction makes no sense! All amps will display varying impedance with varying frequencies, so we go with 4,8,16, ohm NOMINAL impedance for standardization of specs.

Incredible sound and great, tasteful playing! Like on an old jumpered Marshall, put Vol 2 a little higher than Vol 1 for a "fuller", less screaming sound (especially with Single Coils).

I’m on the fence about this one, no offense to Don Carr his playing is incredible but this amp probably sounds better with Joe Walsh playing through it,. I’m about to find out in the other Sweetwater video.

Sorry, but I cannot stand it when people that get paid to talk gear are blatantly ignorant. Three 8 ohm speakers in series is 3.2 ohms? No dude, that's 24! Three 8 ohm speakers in parallel? Nope, that's 2.6. Two parallel and one series? Naw, that's 12. Two series and one parallel? Still no. that's 5.3. So... where did you get 3.2 again?
