When she asked if making his first album in 20 years was scary and he said yes, but it was also ". . . a really good feeling." The way she said "Because???" was so condescending, like she was talking to a two-year old. Love Joe Walsh, and even in the face of a idiot he kept his signature class, style, and humor and just let her look like an idiot.

GAIL KING IN CASE YOU READ...From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas, Stadiums and Festivals. I just saw them last Summer of 2019 on the US and Canada Tour...( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award (ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. Jeff Lynne created The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan). The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. He produced some of the greatest Legends ever like the Beatles, Roy Orbison, Del Shannon, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Bryan Adams, Paul, Ringo and George on an individual basis, The Everly Brothers, Brian Wilson and so many others... People Celebrate Legends while they are still alive. The great Jeff Lynne will had a new album out November 1st 2019. Please Jeff Lynne's ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA Tour in 2021! You got it Gail!

Joe Walsh brought a lot to the table, no doubt about it. BUT it was Don Felder who originally brought a much needed element to the original Eagle's sound.... a more harder melodic rock sound. It was he and Bernie Leadon who led the guitar driven sound prior to Walsh. Joe Walsh needs to reach out to Felder and re-cement their long time friendship regardless of what "The Gods" say...
@Dios67
@Dios67 8 жыл бұрын
+warptek This news reports does have the facts slightly off. It was Felder that helped take them from a country to rock band. Unfortunately, Bernie didn't like that and Frey got a cold beer over his head. Walsh was brought in for his rocking skills for sure but I think too to lighten things up.

Talented, smart, funny, and the definition of a survivor. He partied with Keith Moon AND John Belushi. The fact that he lived through that alone is amazing. To me Joe Walsh is like the American version of Kieth Richards. All these great out of control stars around him were dropping lie flies and he Kept on his feet. Writing and or playing on some of the most icon songs in history. Life's Been Good, Funk #49, Rocky Mountain way, Life in the Fast Lane, and the list goes on. The Eagles were a great band. They hired Joe Walsh and they became a legendary band. I hope he lives forever!

I don't think they were referring to the song "Hotel California" but the album "Hotel California". Joe Walsh was co writer of two songs on the Hotel California Album "Life in the Fast Lane" and "Pretty Maids All in a Row" . Not to mention being half of the incredible guitar duet by Felder and Walsh. The Eagles' "Hotel California" has been voted the home of the #1greatest guitar solo in history. The statement was issued by Guitarist magazine, which received 5,000 responses from readers to compile the chart. "The classic solo crafted by Joe Walsh and Don Felder epitomizes the stadium rock sound of the '70s and has served air guitarists well since its inception in 1976." If you get a chance, watched Joe Walsh on KZbin sing "Life in the Fast Lane". He does it better than Henley then check out Analog Man album .

The guy would be dead if it wasn’t for Don Felder driving him to rehab 18 years ago and he repays him by not even talking to him after being once good friends, by the way felder there would be no Hotel California as he wrote the majority of the music on the song.

Amazing how Don Felder is just looked over in this video. Even though he wrote the music for Hotel California and the lead parts for him and Joe and even the bass line. He's purposely ignored. Make no mistake I do love Joe a great deal but he isn't the guitar player that Felder is and it's sad to see him now as not much more than a studio musician because he is not partners with the Ego's. Timothy, Joe and Stuart are all studio musicians, they get paid a salary, the only so called Eagles left are Henley and Frey. Read Heaven and Hell.
@warptek
@warptek 9 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Walsh pretty much turned his back on Felder when he decided to continue living as a "battered wife" to Henley and Frey megalomania. Those two, in my opinion are not worth the stress and they and management seem to overvalue themselves and undervalue everyone else involved in the Eagles past or present.
@jCd1058
@jCd1058 9 жыл бұрын
TheJhaley12 I heard Don Felder say it this way, and he holds no animosity toward Joe Walsh when he does. He said that he, Don, signed on from day one as an "equal partner" in the Eagles, who took Joe on a few years later as an "employee," not as a "partner." After they flung Don out of the band, Henley & Frey legally ordered Joe, their employee, to say nothing about the Felder situation, lest it give them reason to sue his pants off. Don understands, and made peace with Joe, and neither of them can talk about the details.
@Dios67
@Dios67 8 жыл бұрын
+James Daniels Yup, Felder was made a full partner in Eagles LTD. The rest of guys were side men. So, it was understandable that Felder would get upset when Frey/Henley created new companies to handle Eagles recordings/merchandise in the 90's and could write a full partner out if wanted. So, when Felder got the boot he sued and won a settlement (6 mil so I hear). Walsh just wanted to rock and really stay out of all of this; can't blame him. From Felder's book when he got fired in he called up Schmitt/Walsh for support and weren't that kind. That's' what I recall from the book; don't quote me.

Oh dear. Joe contributed so much to the Eagles in terms of singing and writing, guitar playing, the group doing his music on stage and his enormous presence on stage. Felder contributed a few chords to a song that was finished and put together by Henley and the late great Glenn. Thats the other way of looking at it.

They talk like the Eagles didn't have a great lead before Walsh.....Felder was with them since 74 and he's just as good or better than Walsh!

No, actually, he's not. Simple truth..........he has no individual fan base. That's the total opposite of Joe

He has a huge fan base now. I used to be a Glenn Frey fan. He is more popular here than Joe Walsh. I dont know felder nor walsh before 2016 and the death of frey...

The two idiots really tried their best to keep up with him and not sound too patronizing. Hey at least they tried. They still sound like his children.

Man. Joe was looking for a place to hide. Don Felder is a GREAT guitar player. He showed Joe what to play on Hotel Cali. the 2nd lead part. Don Felder & Glen Frey were the musical genius' of the Eagles, Henley on lyrics. Don Felder is 1 of 3 actual owners of the Eagles franchise. Joe Walsh is an employee, not owner. And, I love Joe Walsh by the way. First saw him in 1969 with the James Gang.

+buddy lobos I'm kind of new to the Eagles, but I love them. They're kind of an older brother's band. My older brother is 53. I'm 49. But from what I understand Felder wrote the music to Hotel California. And... that's it. And Glenn hired him only a couple years after the band formed. So he has an ego, like he's a founding member. But Frey and Henley wrote pretty much everything else the Eagles has ever done. I'm pretty sure every original Eagles fan will call you on the 'Felder told Joe what to play' They pushed each other

Maybe. But copyright laws have changed since 2002. He did all the leads on all of their songs and probably the vast majority of rhythm track recordings.too.They would not be able to use those signature lead tracks without his agreement.He gave their songs real identifiable musical signatures. Where would Hotel California be without the lead guitar? Certainly not the 70+ million seller it is. You cannot protect copyright's on bass or drums anymore unless they have an unusual role in the song.Otherwise rap/hip slop would be in copyright violations continually. Only lead vocal melody, the instrumental melody, harmonies and most accompanying rhythm. This ruling ended all of the Bo Diddley lawsuits. His publishers filed lawsuits every time somebody recorded the "Bo Diddley beat' w/o giving him co-song writing credit. Who do you love, Not Fade Away, Bad to the Bone, Mona, and more. Became such a pain in the ass for the record & royalty co.s BMI, Warner Bros. EMI, ASCAP and more they finally ended it.

+clubredken Don Felder COMPLETED the Eagles that's why Frey asked him to join in 1974 after hearing him play. The Eagles had their BEST 2 albums with Felder on guitar, " One Of These Nights" and "Hotel California" take away those 2 albums and the Eagles are just a average band.

I know Don Felder and Glenn had a bit of a falling out. But that happens in so many bands. I have mad respect for Don Felder, so many incredible videos with Don and Joe killing it, going back and forth. I consider the Eagles one of only two real supergroups, with the Beatles being the first. To have Frey and and Henley hire you, you're already one of the greatest players and songwriters on the planet. But at least they could make money on albums back in the day, so regardless of any conflicts those guys had, they are all o.k. These days a lot of artists that could be great never get started
