37 years of rolling a set of dice that can be, and eventually WILL be, without warning, really fucking dangerous, possibly deadly. Many would never last 37 years, and some don't last 37 minutes. Along the way they'll allow you to confuse stupid with funny, reckless with adventurouss, and negligent with care free.

@tinydancer25445 жыл бұрын
They don't just convince you. You really physically can't function without them, when you're shaking and scared cos your body needs them. Its not just a psychological but a physical dependency on them. To be able to even get out of bed in the morning without one of them to straighten out your mind enough , that's terrified to barely move cos you are stripped bare and can't handle having to act normal when you're are anything but and can't remember the last time you were yourself without drugs or drink to make you feel the way you should feel without them. Yeah messed up minds lead to alcohol/drugs abuse but your brain has been reprogrammed to work with them and doesn't know how to, without them. So you're just struck into this nightmare that you know you wont get through a day like you normally would without them. I always use to say " why can't I just feel happy and not stressed out, naturally. Without having to take drink or drugs" I think anyone that could explain why we don't feel happy naturally without chemicals, would be a millionaire 😂

@@tinydancer2544 - it's easy to figure out; Joe said "over time." The body builds up a tolerance. Most people will never have a problem; Joe was an entertainer, and he did that when the pressure to indulge("peer pressure") was overwhelming. Joe is lucky to be alive; and he knows it. And, as he said, he's happy to help.

It's very interesting isn't it that Drugs or Alcohol have a mind of their own, that their Mind can Screw with Your Mind..to influence YOU to do anything. It's the same a God Vs Satan. How about, Drugs and Alcohol cannot Convince you of Anything...but YOU can Convince Yourself that you Need them? Now THAT's Empowerment!

Will be 40 years continuously sober from alcohol in April of this year (2024). Was fortunate to get sober with the loving help of AA in Toledo, OH. Coincidently, I was a freshman in 69/70 at Kent State University & used a fake ID to get into JBs, a local Kent bar. Joe was playing in the "house band" then called The Measles & soon quit to form The James Gang. Joe's little talk here comes straight from his heart, along with many other "leads" I've heard at AA meetings. Nowadays, there's many addiction treatments to choose from besides AA & they all offer a way up & out.

What can one say except....WONDERFUL? I have loved Joe for decades. The fact- the WONDERFUL fact- that he brought his gift of music to the world, then found his way to clean and sober life, and brings that gift out as well. I'm clean and sober for many years and this video brought me to tears- of gratitude and wonder. The folks giving back to Joe, the haka, this is where true love and real synergy take place. Selfless giving and true support of one's fellows, peers, and global family is where real good prevails. In my case me learning challenges and my addiction were barriers to me making much progress in music, until I cleaned up and began to have a decent life as a result of that. Joe Walsh is one of many icons who helped lead me to the Light. Today I am a successful musician, bringing joy to people even in these hard hard times. If you are struggling with addiction, like Joe says, there is a way out. There is a way to live sane and happy. There is a mission for you, to carry love in this world. But you just have to ask. My gratitude to Joe and all the others who helped me find my way to peace, happiness, love, and usefulness.
